Purdue players, coaches and fans are disappointed as the conference championship is done and with it likely Braden’s CPOY and Trey’s first team BT and borderline AA hopes. Dealing with disappointment is difficult. Coaches and players need to look at themselves critically and evaluate where they need to be better in order to end this losing streak and bring some positives from this season. Can they get back to playing their butts off and executing within themselves now that the pressure is off?
As fans, are we following this team in a way that brings us joy and makes our lives better? Or are we letting expectations and our personal pride get in the way of our joy? I need to get back to appreciating this team and players for what they are, not for what I wanted them to be. If sports don’t make our lives better, what’s the point?
