Below is a list of what I believe to be top targets (mainly local). Let's hear who we think is first to pop.

MY top 5 would be Upshaw, Ball, Traynor, Trice and I'll go Luke Martin.

Picking Upshaw first based on this tweet:

One kid from Chicagoland. God help us.

Not to be challenging, but just based on how recruiting goes. I'll guess no one on your list will be the first one. ;)

I'll say LB Johnson

Did you leave the Cathedral kids off the list bc they were committed elsewhere? There are a couple uncommitted who we are in on. They have the top RB and OL in the state. Would love to switch them.

Yeah it is a pretty preliminary list based off of visits and twitter love

Changing my prediction. Whoever commits first, it won't be until after June 5th, when Purdue holds it's first camp.

Refining my prediction further to the week of June 12-16. In Brohm's last three classes, that is when he got his first commit. I'll also go with Perkins, the DB from Illinois.

The first camp concludes today. It contained a lot of targets and players with offers. I said it when Brohm was hired, there would be 4 measuring points to his future success. This is the third one of those measuring points. Successful coaches and teams get commitments from players on the last day of their camp or the following day. Hazell was not able to do that. Several of the players he recruited came to camp only to go to another camp and commit at that camp. To be successful, Brohm needs to close the deal and get a commitment while the recruit is still on campus, or at worst, before they start looking elsewhere. I look forward to seeing 1-3 commitments this week. If not, it won't be the end of the world, but my expectations will be lowered. I have confidence in Brohm, but now is the time to start closing the deal on some of these recruits.

First commit is unrated Jaylin Alexander, WR/ILB from Illinois. It looks like he had a WKU offer as well. I didn't see anything other than mid-major offers. He has decent size at 6'0 239 as a junior. It looks as if he was recruited as a linebacker and not a WR. Would be curious to see if he plays as a linebacker or a defensive end.

Rivals will update his evaluation this week, according to Rivals Josh Helmholdt, and thus the awaited Star designation.
Plays in a solid conference in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. His video, shows great hands as a receiver and gettin' and stickin' guys on Defense.
He says he is really pumped and excited about PU, that is the kind of player we want!!
Welcome aboard Mr. Alexander!
