Prediction for Commit 2 for 2020

Maybe this young man... his dad went to high school with me in central Indiana ...https://mobile.twitter.com/nolanmccord?lang=en
There is a local kid with a big leg from HHS. Name is Brian Pennel. Good leg and had hit from 55 in practice. RS a year and give him weights and diet and he has a body to build muscle on to. Played QB and WR and runs track. Solid athlete. Wouldn’t be a bad walk on offer

And he cant kick the ball to the 5 on kickoffs.
I think the KO duties will go to Homan (who filled in for Evans when he was hurt) or to Cormier (freshman coming in with a big leg). KO duties will be fine, especially with the new fair catch rule. Lots of teams simply fair catch if the ball isn't kicked in a certain area for a good return opportunity and Purdue can scheme towards that.

Cormier looks good but he’s a punter. We now, unless we go the JC route, have to take a true freshman placekicker in to Nebraska in 2020 to open the season...

He was listed as a junior last year and red shirted. Does be not have 2 yrs left then?
All be darned...you would be correct. Really though he had spent two years under Hazell and then these two under Brohm.

Well, doesn't change the need for a KO specialist but Purdue has a semi-reliable returning FG kicker. He is 56/57 XP but 20/29 FG. Think Purdue may need a kicker who has a good leg for kicks longer than 35 yards but Dillinger is super solid from inside 30.

I would hope he could hit consistently from 30 yards. I see kickers in the duneland conference hit those most every year.

my point was basically, don't be looking to use a scholarship for a kicker in this limited 2019 class when we already have one on scholarship. now if he were to leave and transfer, I believe we'd all be happy.

Welcome Young Man!!!

Player Review
Chris is an extremely talented kicking prospect. A great athlete with a big time leg. Field goals are strong and accurate off the ground. The ball explodes off his foot. He has D1 range. His kickoffs are outstanding, college ready. He drives the ball deep into the end zone with solid hang time. He is also a talented punter. A competitor that does his best under pressure. I love his upside. One of the hardest workers out there that is always a pleasure to work with. Look for Chris to dominate Vegas XXXIII turning the heads of college coaches. He is going to make a fine addition to a college football team. Big things ahead. Excellent prospect. OFFER NOW!!! Nice addition for Purdue.

Came here to say this. Obarski would've been great, but this kid looks like he has solid upside and will get better behind Dellinger for 2 years, and have 3 years of eligibility after JD graduates
If he can't beat out Dellinger, coach will need to recruit another one.

we already have another kid to kick as well. and he's on scholarship. Who is to say he won't end up being our punter?

Cormier was recruited to punt. Dellinger will most likely kick. This kid is a walk on. My guess is we dont see him punt

My guess is unless your last name is brohm, you shouldn't say what position this guy is going to play. A quick look at our roster will reveal we have two other kickers named Bravo and Collins, and only one punter named Herr. Who is to say what this kicker/punter ends up doing? He may see his chance as our punter, or kicker, or maybe even both.
