and with them drumming Ohio State and surging.....they'll be playing toward trying to get a spot in the NCAA tournament field. Tony Carr will be all the Boilers can handle I suspect.....has 28 already tonight with 3+ minutes left and Penn State up 69-48. No rest for the weary.
Good gravy! We better beat PSU at home or we are really pretty much toast! I just don't get it; Thompson, Mathias, Haarms and Cline gave us a total of 2 points tonight. If there was ever a game to start Eastern, Sunday would be it. How many goose eggs does there have to be before Painter shakes up the starting line-up. Losing to Wisconsin is about as bad as it gets. Wisky couldn't even beat Northwestern or Nebraska on their home court but they beat us.
Nojel needs to start Sunday. Carr absolutely abused PJ last year, and Nojel’s size, strength, and length would make Carr’s shots a lot tougher.
If we can just get back to a normal shooting percentages, around 40, Purdue is tough to beat. I do agree that eastern needs more playing time. PSU is scary good right now. Watched them absolutely destroyed OSU. Tony Carr is a monster. Purdue is just in a horrible shooting slump. Haas is also getting very frustrated.
Think Painter will bench his senior? I think you're right but I'm not sure coach will do it.
The seniors have zero killer instinct. I think after you watch your shot miss its mark so many times, it gets to you. They just gotta keep shooting. Vince needs to go the basket more. Two positives were eastern and carsen. Carsen is a blessing. He plays hard. Eastern also played his butt off last night.
Man, I sure hope he does. I don't think PJ wants to be in a slump, I am pretty sure he feels bad about it and all being a competitor, but there is no denying it. Practically scoreless and assist-less for 3 straight games; these are the facts. 3 games is a trend you have to make some kind of adjustment. Starting Eastern on Sunday should also mean starter minutes, not just a token start and then only see the floor for 10 minutes. I feel bad for PJ, but you have to do what is best for the team. We aren't getting out of this tailspin unless there is some dramatic adjustments.
