which is the lesser of 2 evils tonight?

I kind of want IU to beat ND, but it ain't happening. IU had the perfect schedule for this kind of run and while they are good, ND is at home and probably better.

who you got?

Alabama might have been more competitive, but less deserving. They really tried to get 4 SEC and 4 Big Ten teams in the CFP.

Man... You really got the guy who made the CFP and went 11-2 there..
"We don't just beat Top 25 teams, we beat the s--- out of them." Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti

Hahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha…to be the best, you have to beat the best. Again, I think IU sucks is being nice based on what we saw last night

And we still didn't get destroyed like Ohio State did against Clemson or Michigan State did or like Notre Dame in their last two trips in the CFP. Indiana belonged, Notre Dame was just better. Nothing for Indiana fans to fuss about. Had an Amazing season.

Yes you did, the last two minutes made cig look like a clown, especially when he gave up in the 4th quarter and punted with 5 minutes left

IU was so bad the announcers said that the big ten should be limited in the number of teams eligible for the cfp. It was an embarrassing game watching Notre dame (whose not very good) destroy iu by attacking supposed strengths. Iu didn’t belong

27-3 is getting destroyed. Totally exposed as a pretender, not a contender.

Same as the game in Columbus.

But: congrats on forcing the CFP to take SOS into consideration moving forward. This will improve the quality of the playoff moving forward, by keeping frauds like IU out. Well done.

Belonged? 😂 IU was Soft, Slow, and Timid. Daunted. Getting dog walked by the two good teams IU played showed the world just how much they didn’t belong.

And now SMU is proving the SOS argument even further. Can’t be letting multiple pretender programs into this thing. The networks will demand change. Probably blowing up CFP phones as we speak.

Pretty much an indictment and getting to the heart of what TC has been arguing - 12 is the wrong number if you want a balanced and deserving championship field. This year may be an outlier - who knows with the way some of the unbalanced schedules ended up. But, they have to fill out the field, and doesn't overall record have to mean something? Yeah - you can distinguish teams in a 4 or even 8-team field, but how else.

I also hate using the playoff results themselves only to justify inclusion. Yeah, maybe Alabama or Miami would have been more competitive - but that's different IMO from whether they should be in or not......

They will factor SOS in more , as they should - how that works quantitatively or qualitatively is a different story.

You still could possibly end up with two Big Ten teams and two SEC teams in the semi-finals - or even three SEC teams - the cartel will be smiling then.

Yep.

@qazplm -I guess we can table the 2nd string QBs portaling problem for a while. Bigger fish to fry…

Should’ve left it alone, or maybe gone to eight teams to satisfy their greed. It may mirror the FCS playoff where the majority of the early games aren’t real competitive. The first FCS semi today has been great and I’ll be watching the next one.

There was zero argument for Ole Miss or Alabama getting in. Those teams allowed teams like SMU and Indiana to get in. Don't lose to crappy teams like Vandy, Kentucky and Oklahoma and to unranked Florida. Do your job and win, and you're in. All Bama had to do was beat Oklahoma and they got absolutely stomped and embarrassed. Ole Miss lost at HOME to a terrible Kentucky team.
