Post 6/30 plans?

Sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere, but curious as to what posters here plan to do after this board shuts down on 7/1. I think there’s a free board over on the other site, but it doesn’t seem to have much activity. Are there other options?

On3 will be pimped but the free boards are basically non-existent and the pay version isn't worth it (I've said this a few times and that is just MY take).

I currently subscribe to On3 (GBI) but contemplating not renewing this Fall. Too much name-calling & thread derailement for my taste. (That happens here too, but I only use this free section).
H&R for me I guess, and maybe free board section of GBI.
I listen to multiple Boiler-related podcasts and find that medium satisfying & less time-consuming as I can listen while doing other things.

Great question. I follow & post alot on the Women’s board here, and used to on the On3 site but you’re right - it just went dead for some reason. Someone mentioned it went flat after Mike Carmin quit posting articles and links there, so maybe ??

Several months ago, folks started posting OT threads addressing WBB and VB, and also Softball when the team went on a run in the Big 10 tourney. Men’s and Women’s Golf too. So it felt to me like the “ancillary” sports were just sort of getting woven into KHC board.
Also, maybe - a lot of fans - me included - subscribed to On3 when they had that $1 special a couple years back, so the need for a free board wasn’t there anymore.
I dunno - just my thoughts.

My guess is that there are a lot of other free boards and with the dollar rate for the paid site, it kind of makes the free ones irrelevant.

With rivals going away .. that all could change though.

I will probably go over to H&R and also try to drum up activity on the Purdue basketball subreddit. Hope either of those can quench my need for basketball discussion. Don't really want to head over to On3 unless it becomes necessary.

That subreddit isn't bad.. problem with reddit is it's too easy to get banned. Some drive-by person can not like something you said and the ban hammer cometh.

I haven't really spent much time on H&R - guess I'll have to give it a try.

I was on On3 - that site platform turns off a lot of functionality if you use an ad blocker because if you don't use an ad blocker it is really annoying. I'm not a fan of paying $ to get inundated with annoying ads. I might give it a month then go the free board route if needed.

Like many others, not sure where I will land, but I love this place and have enjoyed interacting with so many of you.

The only constant in life is change, but we sure as hell don't have to be happy about it. Thanks for the great memories and laughs as we have celebrated, commiserated, and shared our love for our school and teams.
