The Trump admin FAA DEI program comes to mind.

How many deaths do you estimate that supposedly caused in your mind?

You understand that an aircraft goes to visual recognition of other aircraft in these situations. The controller has each aircraft acknowledge sight of the other and the controller is no longer giving instructions.

No, the controller is 100% in charge of his/her sky as my Uncle was an ATC in Chicago for 35 years. Sight recognition while definitely helpful, is NEVER the primary.

I have no idea. But a DEI program that allowed people with job-relevant disabilities to become air traffic controllers was and is a horrible idea.

That program was instituted in 2019.
