after reading that article, it seems like more of the same, couple of OK players but nothing to help get the team over the hump. One of these days Purdue will take football seriously.

Carson Steele is a top 20 portal guy. Led the country in YAC. BSU's QB play was horrI just finished reading the article. It’s rather disappointing the caliber of player he suggests Purdue may try to target. None of them are names being mentioned that other power 5 schools are targeting or even interested in. Are we going back to the days of recruiting the same players MAC schools are targeting? The best we can find at rb is a player from Ball St? And a 30 year old QB from some FCS school? The pay site said we were recruiting a big name QB. I sure hope it’s not this guy.
As i said, I'm disapointed our portal targets are MAC level players. Steele is from Ball state. He's playing at Ball state because the first time Purdue offered him a walk on and he accepted a scholarship from ball st. . and now, they want to offer him a scholarship because he's the best they can find in the portal?Carson Steele is a top 20 portal guy. Steele is very good. I don’t care where he played before…he is a P5 talent. As i said, I'm disapointed our portal targets are MAC level players. Steele is from Ball state. as for his YAC, look at what his competition was. Didn't that other RB that came to purdue last year from a MAC school also have great stats?
and this is the best talent we can hope to bring to purdue via the portal?
ok, let me run this by you.Steele is very good. I don’t care where he played before…he is a P5 talent.
Ball States line was horrible. Tennessee fans want him in the portal even though he was held to like 25 yards against them. Do some research. Hes got UCLA and A&M offers that I know of. Likely a lot more as well. He is a better version of Horvath.ok, let me run this by you.
Steele is a RB at ball st. He had an awesome year at ball st. I will not deny that. but who was it against? they played tennessee. he gained 27 yards in 11 attempts. that's not very good. Last year we signed Kobe Lewis from Central Michigan who also looked good playing on a team from the same conference. he ran for over 1,000 yards in 2019. How did that turn out?
Last year we signed transfeers from iowa, K State, IU and Auburn. and this year our top projected target is from ball St? does that give you an awesome feeling inside?
West Virginia just got a commitment from a TE from LSU. wouldn't you feel a lot better if we were getting interest from players from SEC or BIG 10 teams, or other power 5 teams rather than going after MAC talent?
Admittedly, the transfer portal season has already begun. One would have thought our interim coaches would have recruited a few before we hired Walters. What were they doing besides house hunting? and convincing our recruits to go to louisville? one would have also thought Walters was also recruiting portal transfers as well. we shall see what he is able to pull in.
If the NFL did this it wouldn't exist. Why do some people, immediately write off a player due to what schools offered him and where he played? You can bring up examples either way as to how the guy will do. Lots of different things come into play that people don’t know about a player. Let’s trust what the coaches do and relax.

Can you not just post the same thing, over and over and over?So that Kobe from Central Michigan was a great addition right? He had over 1000 yards one year against MAC teams.
I understand some of you love your Indiana home boys. He was even a mr football.
The actual facts remain. Brohm said pass on him.
And my comments were directed at all of the prospects, not just one. And I asked the question while other teams are signing power 5 players, these are the type of players we’re targeting?
I know the past history of Purdue and its posters here! You love those players that Purdue signs that no other big 10 team is interested in
I’m sorry, I’m tired of Purdue going after the same players WKU, Marshall and MAC schools are recruiting.
And yes there is a huge difference in a school showing interest and actually offering a scholarship
will be visiting UCLA this weekendSteele is very good. I don’t care where he played before…he is a P5 talent.
