Poor QB play, really 2 straight games now.

And after being put in and then taking right back out his confidence is probably going to be at all time low no used to even going back to him the rest of this year

It seems like they are trying to move Sindelar around and keep Blough in the pocket. Not a strong suit for either party.
Neither one is the QB that coach would like to have under center, but its what he has till he recruits or has recruited that person. Both make bad decision under pressure.

We've faced two really good defenses in Michigan and Wisconsin. And Sindelar had a strong game against Minnesota.

It's a work in progress.

This is a point I made to a friends after the game yesterday: Do you think Sipe or Plummer has a legit chance to steal the starting job next season as those are the guys that Brohm has tabbed as his QB's that fit his system?

Speaking of red shirt freshmen, anyone up on what freshmen that are redshirting this year, could be playing a lot next year?

You could say we had poor QB play for the past 2 games, but I think you would be underestimating the impact of the other team's defense.

Did you watch the coverage down field? It was almost at the level of the pro's in both the UM and Whisky games. I saw almost no blown overages, and in all cases the DB's were able to run with our receivers. Do we need faster receivers? Definitely, yes! The QB's can only throw to open receivers. When they throw to those with coverage, our receivers are not going to be able to out-wrestle the athletic DB's for the ball. Nor will our WR's be able to out-maneuver the DB's when they are going down field. They are not the athletes the Whisky or UM DB's are. Should we be critical of the QB's? Maybe, but within a balanced view that recognizes they can only do so much against top 10 defenses.

Agree with Mathboy, the defenses of UM and WI are much better with pressure and coverage and that is why they are highly ranked. We can compete near those levels and may turn the corner in a year or two. Both existing QB's have had critical turnovers. One will likely emerge soon to play the majority of snaps. We'll likely need them both at times from here till end of season. I like Blough's running ability and appears a bit more accurate. Sindelar has a stronger arm, yet it didn't showcase yesterday and when he had the opp, it was overthrown and out of bounds.

Turnovers, indecisiveness, just bad really from both. Can't take sacks like that.
Take it easy we were playing the number 7 team in the country with a excellent defense . We are doing a unbelievable job with what COach B has to work with. Hard for us to get off press coverage, but somehow he devises his game calling around it to keep us in a game like this. His level 2 crossing routes against man worked well sometimes but not so good others, we need to be more physical outside when getting off press. Really we don't have a large widow for error in our passing game and when pressure comes as we saw with both Blough sacks he has to get rid of it. but he wants to make a play. It will come year one has far exceeded what i even thought anyone could accomplish. Look forward to later this year as we continue to get better, Boiler up

Wisconsin is by far a more talented team, and their defense is outstanding. We were competitive and that is a huge step in the right direction. The past few years, this game would have been over at halftime. Better days are ahead.

But the quality of QB play is also premised upon what he does when there is coverage, i.e. avoiding a sack or an interception. It's that part where things are coming up short.

Can't disagree with you. Neither QB can hit a covered receiver like Brees could.... but then again, few college QB's could. I share your criticism of the QB's, but with restraint. They were up against a tough defense, with medium talented receivers that are still learning the system. Other issues contributed as well. How much better could the QB's be if we had a few less movement penalties? Third and 15 vs third and 5? I don't think I need to lecture anyone here. We all know it is a team sport, and the team wins or loses. Not the QB.
