And....Done.For this to be a valid poll shouldn't " who cares" be a valid poll option?

This is not a good thing to post about a young man in high school. Don't see the reason to post the question.
Only for those who have over a 336 message thread that doesn't stop that should be much less than 12 long.So how many other football players are we going to take a poll for that Brohm has not offered?
Bingo. I have no inside information but I just have a gut feeling on this one. This kid is a warrior.I think he’s going the opposite direction.. he wants people to say no so that he can bump it when spegals goes to a good football school

That's right. If he comes to Purdue, it's as a Walk On or a Preferred Walk On. We already have a 4* commit in Murphy for this class and there just isn't a scholarship for Spegal to be had.I put who cares; not because I do my think spegal can be a player; if teams got 95 schollies we probably take him. It’s because if you pay for premium you know that the scholarship just isn’t there and never has been. We are looking to take 3 more players most likely and that will necessitate that some room be made ...
The players we are in on and likely get either fit s need or are just above this kids league.
And we are gonna be full at RB anyway ... Doerue, Murphy, Hewitt, Horvath. It would be like taking a TE and having to say no to an absolute freak at the wide receiver position.
So I like the kid but he’s just not for us. There are worse things than going to West Point. If my kid was a player but wasn’t gonna go to the NFL I’d tell him to go to West Point anyway
I agree he’s not for us, right now, with all the other factors in play. I put the poll up because in the other thread there were a surprising number of people who have never seen the kid play, who were adamant he doesn’t belong on scholarship at ANY power 5 school.I put who cares; not because I do my think spegal can be a player; if teams got 95 schollies we probably take him. He has offers from Army and Indiana State. No MAC schools have offered, including Ball State. Over half his games were against either 5A or 6A schools. So the “small-school” knock isn’t really accurate. He has offers from Army and Indiana State. No MAC schools have offered, including Ball State. He's camped at IU and they have not offered, at least not yet.
He had a great JR campaign and there's no arguing he has been very productive and successful. His video shows him bowling over small school defenders with regularity. Not sure that translates to P5-type schools and that level of competition. He's strong and compact. That said, I highly doubt he will be offered by BIG schools.
What is accurate is that he currently has no P5 offers (he has a classmate who is committed to MSU - King). Another teammate has a MAC offer. Spegal's not likely to get any. I hope for his sake that someone does offer him in the P5, but I doubt it happens. The kid has camped at some P5 schools and none offered him. Why is that?Over half his games were against either 5A or 6A schools. So the “small-school” knock isn’t really accurate.

Yes, we all know that. Thanks tho. What is accurate is that he currently has no P5 offers
I didn’t start the original Spegal thread, nor do I think Purdue should offer him a scholarship. No offense man but this is one of the things I hate about the forums here. Local bias. I’m so tired of hearing about David Bell like he’s as good as Milton Wright, not because he may not be, but because I know a huge part of the necessity to say it is because he’s an Indy kid.
Why don’t you just say it? “Indiana has great high school football”.. they don’t. It’s fine. It’s like that pizza place your brother’s wife raves about and you have to hold your hand up and say “it’s not as good as Di Fara’s... it’s fine.
Like I’m from Illinois. The high school football is good. It’s not Florida, California or Texas, if nothing else for sheer volume. Basketball is going to take more 50/50 kids away from football in both Illinois and Indiana than it is in Texas.
So just let these kids go where they go, hope the best for all of them, and let it sort itself out. I’d be just as excited about George Karlaftis if he came from Louisville and someone else was from down the block.
If a kid comes from your area and you care or feel the need to hype him more than another kid it’s likely just local bias, be it bell or spegal or whoever.
And David Bell May end up being the jerry rice figure some are crowning him as. Spegal May end up making big ten teams sorry. But on the former, being neither from Indy, NP or Louisville I have my money on wright being better than Bell and spegal not making big ten coaches sorry.
Marcellus Moore is from my sons high school conference.. so what. People back home rave about him. I have my money on him in no way causing announcers to ask if his first name is really rondale.

While I agree there is definitely some Spegal bias on this board... I don’t understand any bias criticism when it comes to bell. Bell is a very highly ranked recruit. I think Bell and Wright will both be great WR’s at Purdue. Don’t sleep on Sheffield either.
I didn’t start the original Spegal thread, nor do I think Purdue should offer him a scholarship.
We can agree to disagree
Can anyone confirm where the rumored 4.6 that Spegel ran was timed?
Was it his dad in the backyard or his high school coach?
I've watched his film and I don't see 4.6 speed. There's NFL WR who don't run a 4.6. Hell, a 4.5 speed at the WR position get's you looks from the NFL.
They beat Kokomo, CG and six 5A teams in the tournament. Was last years schedule drastically different? This year game #1 is against 5A Kokomo. I would not say Kokomo is a GOOD 5A team. Week 2 is at 6A Center Grove and then the other 7 games are all against 3A or 4A schools. Hoosier Heritage is a pretty weak conference overall... that Center Grove game really is their only challenge on the entire schedule. That will be the game to watch. Will be interesting to see if the long regular-season win streak comes to an end in week 2.

If David Bell was a 3* recruit then I could see your point, but the recruiting services that rank him higher than Wright have nothing to do with Indianapolis bias. I see no reason not to believe that both players will be very very good. Everytime I have seen Bell play he had looked phenomenal. Jeff Brohm said that he is a special player that we have to make sure we feature.
Where’d they rank Moore?
I will say I'm shocked Spegal doesn't have any Division 1 offers by now outside of Army. I think he has talent. he just doesn't fit the offense brohm wants to run. I would think some team that loves to run the ball would take a flyer on him. I would think Air force would be interested, but the Air Force is very selective about who they accept. and maybe he doesn't want the military commitment that comes with a scholarship.
Just because he hasn't received any offers, doesn't mean schools haven't contacted him.
Somebody asked before and it was never answered. How did he fair against the 6A teams? and the play-offs against the better competition? if he had a bad play-off run, that could be why colleges are shying away from him.
We've seen many Indiana 4A athletes be very successful at power 5 schools. Cronk comes to mind. What level was RB Jones? To not receive any offers, there must be something that is not being said. maybe his times are no longer what they were. He'll have another season to prove the doubters wrong. unfortunately the vast majority of scholarships at power 5 schools ill all be taken by his season's end.
Is your argument that Moore was not a 4-star because he is not from Indianapolis?
My argument is that rating services are often wrong, and I’m not counting on someone from this site to point to anyone and say “oh he’s .1 above the other guy, I know that he’s better.”
But I would say judging by the tone of your responses, you definitely don’t have that ole Indy chip on your shoulder
