Playing Tennessee!!!!

So...is there a "Nashville Boiler" on the board, or any board members living in or around Nashville?

Penn St's name screwed over UW, Purdue and Minn. Penn St was not deserving of the Outback Bowl. the Music city bowl is kind of a home game for tenn. i would have loved to play Univ of Kentucky or Louisville regardless of the game. Playing tenn is kind of like the old Rose bowl games going against USC.

Actually if we went on pecking order minny should have gotten outback as it beat both Purdue and Wisconsin and Wisconsin should have gotten Vegas and Purdue music city. Minnesota was the only one to get screwed. If you want to argue they didn’t deserve it then you can’t say wisky or Purdue does either. Penn state and minny essentially swapped bowls.

How do tickets work for this game? I assume certain amount to both programs and then rest open to public?

Nevermind. I guess it just sounds so familiar from the ass kicking we got from Auburn.

Well, I was in attendance when Purdue defeated Tennessee in a bowl game 42 years ago. I am planning on being there this time as well. Let's go enjoy Nashville Boiler fans!! This does not have to feel like a home game for Tennessee.
i was there too in Houston. We won and never forget giving it to the Vol fans.

Nashville is a blast any time and I highly recommend the bowl game. My family went in 2018 and we had an awesome time. The kids were underage so we had to bail on Music Row after 6:00 PM or so, but there was still plenty to do. We went to a Predators game the night before the bowl game. The bowl game itself was nothing I wish to repeat, but we had a great time overall and I’m looking forward to going back.

There was a huge Boilermaker contingent in Nashville. The Auburn people didn’t roll into town until the morning of the game, so it was pretty much all Boilers everywhere. Fun atmosphere.

That is a crap bowl destination this time, because they are suppose to try to rotate teams over a 5 year period with bowl locations.

One positive is at least it is not the Pinstripe Bowl, which should be called the Snow or Ice Bowl this time of the year.

College Football News has them at #24 and Purdue as #22. So game should be close, but I don't like it being basically a home game for them.
Vol fans wanted to go to Florida for a bowl and feel disappointed over the music City Bowl. Yes, it’s in Tennessee, but that is no guarantee that it is basically a home game for UT.

At the last bowl game in Florida against Indiana the Vols dominated the stadium. They travel well, but I’ll be interested to see what the excitement level is for playing Purdue in the Music City.

Take a moment to learn about Tennessee. When Pruitt left many guys jumped ship, leaving the Vols at about 71 scholarships. Their best corner has already opted out of the bowl to concentrate on getting ready for the draft and their best offensive lineman likely won’t play his last game either due to injury.

I too went to the MCB in 2018 and The District is a blast. It is a downtown neighborhood packed with Southern eateries, honky-tonk bars with live music. Having said that, it was cold and didn't have the feel of a bowl game like others I have attended.
