Point of fact -- we haven't played ANY games on ESPN, asshole.
Twice we've been on ESPN2 against high-profile teams but directly opposite higher-profile games on ESPN, which were still being promoted repeatedly within our own telecast. Subsequently, less weight has been given to our win at Pitt -- its only loss this season -- or to our win over Florida -- a three-loss team we beat by 15 on a neutral court but a team that lost by only six at "No. 1" Michigan State.
The lack of exposure is largely why we sagged all the way down to No. 14 in the polls after just one loss -- a game buried on BTN that we easily could have and should have won, despite playing barely 14 minutes of quality basketball against a ranked foe, but a game that went unseen by most of the country. Even playing our worst, we closed within a possession of Butler. (I'm sure many on here already had tuned out.)
Many of the above posters are, in fact, complete and utter fools who simply don't know better, arguing in a Purdue forum that Purdue doesn't need more exposure to sustain its program. When you grow up, maybe you'll come to learn what most of us have witnessed for years -- that Purdue routinely has drawn far better exposure through its long and record-setting history, and that exposure is a major factor in building upon success, drawing yet more high-quality recruits. Meanwhile, idiots here will argue the opposite and sit idly by, then, after another lower-division swoon, they'll again claim it's all the athletic director's fault for failing to spend enough while the program was up.
Dumb and Dumber to.
