Per IndyStar, Swanigan is a Boiler

If true, that's good news! I hope he sticks with the decision and shows up on campus in June.

So were the reports about Purdue not really being in his top three when committing to Michigan State true? I hope that he actually changed his mind on his own and wasn't forced to by his guardian, Roosevelt Barnes.

Hammer and Rails is a joke.....TMill would rather be an IU fan...he said so himself.

Scout and R. Barnes just confirmed he has verbally committed to Purdue.

Let's hope he signs the LOI soon.

Pieces are in place...let's do this.

Boiler Up!

Wow, now we're talking. That is better than before. Never a 'Done Deal" but sounds pretty close to it. DD was pretty good on this one for the most part.

Now we're going to lose all of our new posters from Cal. Darn, they were cute.

It looks legit. Brian and Dan Dakich had it right.

With Hammons, Swanigan, and Haas, Purdue should dominate the paint next season.

This was a huge win for the staff and the program.

and Taylor.....love to see Taylor and Swanigan go at it in practice.....will be fun and both will be ready come gametime.

This free's up Edwards to play 3 or small line up 4 now.......

Not going to celebrate too much until he signs. But if this goes through, WAY TO GO MATT PAINTER! My biggest gripe with Painter has been lack of true difference makers, but Swanigan would certainly be a huge step in the right direction. While he is not a position of need, he is still a top 25 player, something Painter has never had before, and if CMP can keep this momentum going, he could make Purdue a player on the national stage. If he signs, this upcoming season should be fun indeed, placing a veteran and talented squad with a top 25 big man.

Chevy and cprh9u, techinically he doesn't have to sign a LOI. If he would changed his mind, signing a LOI would bind him from playing for another school next season. Obviously we want him to attend Purdue, but Brian and co. have been saying that they don't think he will sign a LOI.

On paper, that looks good!

The backcourt is still a concern if they want to reach Rapheal Davis' goal of a Final Four. Someone has to emerge as a go-to-scorer that the team can rely on (that shoots it well, of course) between Johnny Hill, Thompson, Weatherford, Mathias, Stephens, Cline, Davis, and possibly Edwards (if he plays guard at times).

Yes, and Edwards at the 3 presents problems for lot of other teams. If Mathias/Edwards can handle some of the PG duties, imagine Mathias/Davis/Edwards/Swanigan/AJH on the floor at the same time. That is an incredible lineup.
