Patrick McCaffery out indef.

I read one story. It said his anxieties were taking over his health and physical preparations. He couldn’t sleep and could not perform to his expectations or abilities.

On a positive side it said it was his decision and he had support. And that he would return after he sorted things out.

We hear so much about physical aches, pains and injuries all the time. However, mental health is finally being looked at and taken serious now, which it should.

Wish the best for him going forward.

Just a reminder to not be stupid.

Also, this dude responded to Hall of Calls (or whatever they are called) justifying his letter. Wild stuff.

Wow. I don’t get the player bashing stuff but to mail him directly is another level of crazy.

I think TJD was kind of close with McCaffery. I know Pat was recruiting him to Iowa in HS.

Unbelievable. Too many ‘fans’ love to bash these young men. It’s sad and disgusting. Doesn’t make it better if it’s on a message board or wherever. I’m sure we would all have gotten a lot flack for “disappointing” others in our teens and early twenties if we had the same scrutiny as the bright lights.

Back to the main thread, anxiety can be a real sonnofabitch very much hope Pat gets right soon and takes all the time that he needs.

This looks similar to PG DJ Carton who left OSU a couple years ago due to anxiety before he transferred to Marquette for a year. He is in the G League now playing at Iowa.
