Didn't Painter offer Benter pretty early? Those guys don't always turn out to be superstars (EHJ, Morton, etc.) but Painter's track record is pretty damn good. I'd be very surprised if he can find playing time this season but MP is building a roster with a pretty high floor for the post Braden/Fletch/TKR era.

Yeah, I mean he's a smart kid, great passer and great shooter that should translate to the college level. I think he could eventually play a Cline or Mathius type role.

I’m not mad about it. Definitely think he contributes for us eventually

Or transfers. You need stars too to achieve at the highest level but having a bunch of guys like Benter who are good athletes, buy the team concept, can shoot and know the game is what I mean by a very high floor.

Ethan never panned out the way he was expected to on an individual basis, but you could have a much worse career. He played a bunch of minutes and helped. Purdue win a ton of games. Not many players will leave Purdue or any other program having won more games or four years than Ethan Morton.

Similar to early practice reports about Smith his freshman year. I recall some saying that if this undersized, 3-star freshman is so dominant in practice, Purdue is in trouble.
