Kid is 6'7" (220) Just a junior .......13 rebounds and close to 18-20 Pts against Richmond
Fluid, good shooting form, quick leaper, good footwork. Nice touch from outside and good ball handler. good foul shooter. Plays within himself
Reminds me of VE .....first time I saw him play, impressed.

Watching some film of Gillis, he appears to be a PF type of player in Purdue's scheme. He is able to step out and hit his open threes along with having above-average ball handling for his size. He is able to create shots for himself out of the post-up position along with creating some shots off the dribble. Runs the floor well and has good vision in the open court (shown at 22 seconds of the highlight above). Jump shot is a tick slow, in a similar fashion to Vince Edwards (shown in back to back highlights in above video at 50 seconds). Has good athleticism and probably more at his age than Vince showed. A very similar player to Vince Edwards and a definite high level target for Purdue's 2019 class to hopefully pair with Isaiah Thompson.

I see:
1. anticipation - he sees the game ahead of the moment. Basketball IQ
2. footwork. Someone has influenced his footwork .. nice
3. vision - he sees the whole floor ... kind of linked to #1, but a great addition.
4. slow jump shot. Time to work on this
5. reasonable skill for where he will play in college

I think he will still need to grow a couple inches to be a PF at the big ten level. He is currently 6'6".

Places have him at 6'7 and I guessed he may end up growing another inch or two...don't forget the game is going to smaller, more mobile, but thick framed PF's....Gillis would fit that at already 220 pounds (Vince is currently 6'8 and 225).

I'm from New Castle. He is currently 6'6". His dad is 6'9" though, so he definitely could have more room to grow. I will say that he is an absolutely fantastic kid from a fantastic family.

Butler offered back in October according to 247 so good that Purdue has jumped in early too.
