Travis Perry and Flory Bidunga were both in Noblesville this weekend playing at an AAU event for Indiana Elite.
2025 big man target Malachi Moreno was also there for the younger Indiana Elite squad.
Moreno is a giant body, with a lot of length, and projects as something of a five capable of rim protecting, elite rebounding, and potential floor-spacing. His size for his age is something to behold. He moves well, but wouldn't be described as an explosive athlete.
Florya Bidunga on the other hand... explosive athlete and most dominant player on the court once again. The more I see Bidunga away from Kokomo, the more you see the potential all over the court freak he can be. He showed off some surprising handles, dropping an Indiana Ice player late on a between the legs crossover to a step back move. He also knocked down a three-pointer earlier in the day in a game, but mostly it's his size, his quickness at his size, and his ability to leap effortlessly above the rim that makes Bidunga one of the most intriguing prospects in the country.
But let's focus on Travis Perry, the 6-2, 4-star guard from Kentucky who worked primarily off ball today for a loaded Indiana Elite team. Perry struggled with his shot in his first game, going 5 of 18 from the field, and scoring 15 points. He was 50% from the floor in his next game against Indiana Ice, knocking down two threes and showing off his ability to move the ball, particularly inside to Flory Bidunga who connected with early for an alley-oop. Perry thinks of himself as a mix between Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer he told Boiler Upload. He's shorter than Loyer, but has more heft and broad shoulders while being a couple inches taller than Smith. He lacks Smith's burst, but has similar vision with his play making. He's a knock down shooter off ball and has a solid pull up three-point shot. He's one of 2024's elite shooters in class.
And Matt Painter will be making an in-home visit on Wednesday. Perry is a priority for Painter who has always valued shooting and play-making. Perry has been very open with his admiration for Painter as a coach and Purdue is a favorite to land the Kentucky guard.
We'll update with more information after Wednesday's visit.
