Painter going Euro?

Euro guys seem to be really hit or miss. They do produce a lot of skilled bigs and have started taking over the nba. I’m in favor recruiting the bigs, guards not so much.

Believe 4 but he is skilled enough he might not make it all 4

Also hearing we are out on the SIU kid which makes sense with the push on this kid. Hearing Sasha is leading a lot of this effort.
Supposedly sasha is the europe guy and on this kid. Regarding the siu kid, we could easily take two wings. We could really use a guy that could play the 4 with athletism imo but its going to be a hard sell with tkr dominating the playing time unless a guy can play the 3/4. Really wish heide stayed.

I agree a mobile all 3 level scorer that can play the 4 and some 3 possibly would be beneficial as well as a 3

He looks good but he is 17...New country and collegiate system ....Not sure how much he would help..There is no sort of defense being played in that highlight and I know he would get mobbed in the Big10...Id almost rather get a player with some ncaa miles on them.....

I mean if he has the skills then offensively he will be fine. You bring him in at the 3 when Cluff and TKR are playing together and you have someone doing what folks hoped Heide did if he's as advertised. Or play him at stretch 4 if it's just one big man and at 6-8 he can still provide you some coverage.

Don't know if it would work but the theory of a player like him is 💯

I men I'm all for him coming up...But he is 17 playing in a no defense league...Didn't Morton come here as some sort of scorer

Thought the same thing: Nice highlight reel, not much D being played, not a high flyer but probably an adequate. Nice stroke and step back J. But, what's he going to do when a 6'7 220 lb 22 yr old is locking him up.

I'm not sure that would be an issue. Players like Jakucionis, Knueppel, Knecht just to name a few. He looks pretty savvy to me.

There are coaches, such as Kelvin Sampson and Bruce Pearl, who approach roster construction pretty much exactly like you would want and they are great coaches. Matt Painter takes a different approach and he is also a great coach. It must be frustrating.

For me, I’m just glad that Purdue has a top 10 coach nationally and I appreciate that he has found an approach that Purdue can have great success with. If he tried to mimic Sampson and Pearl, I don’t think that he would be able to maintain the same level of success.

Sampson hasn’t had too many transfers…at least not compared to Pearl.

Sampson is closer to Painter than people think on the portal. He also wants his team leaders to have been with the program a while, ideally. Also, with high school recruiting, he looks for a commitment JR. season, and if they do commit, he doesn't want them taking official visits anywhere else. For that, he ensures they will have a scholarship come hell or high water, injury, whatever. If they don't commit, he moves on.

Now, that is probably the most you'll see in any one post on Sampson from me for a while......also, I will be temporarily suspending any further posts now while I'm incinerating this keyboard.

Annnnd now you know......

Good day......
