It's about the challenge for these coaches too!! Cant go anywhere but up at Purdue at this time. Coach Tiller at Wyoming Power 5 not quite, Coach Young Arizona last two guys with any success . They weren't successful because of where they came from they were great coaches and very good recruiters who could develop talent. Both also had outstanding staffs who stuck by him for a lot of years. We aren't going to get players from OSU to come here but we can get Very good players and develop them into 4 star kids. I say bring on Fleck and watch our football program and excitement about football at Purdue take off again.
He's the guy, throw a stack of cash at him. Let him turn this thing around! He's a little crazy, and I like it!
I'm starting to think so too. He's quirky and animated which will bring more attention to our program. Reach out now before it's too late.
The stage dive in to his players arms in the locker room totally sold me. He kind of seems like Dabo Sweeney and like most people have said...that kind of hair on fire enthusiasm is what is needed at the core of the program. Everyone all thought the Sweeney thing was goofy (I remember him getting blasted for kissing Howard's Rock and sprinting on the field) but he has built Clemson in to a winner.
I've honestly come around on Fleck this year as well. I think he'd be my first choice if we don't go bowling this year.
So because it didn't work we should go back to spending peanuts?
I think every fan here realizes we need bigger football investment. My concern is if the bot realizes it.
Just caught him on ESPN about 25 min. ago. He`s comes across as a straight shooter and knows football and how to win. Now Bob it`s up to you!
But after spending way to much time on Twitter. A lot of the larger, high profile program's fans seem to think Fleck is corny for them. People seem to either love or hate the guy. Harbaugh gets away with it because he has a history of success at the top levels and is a Michigan alum. Fleck doesn't have that history and you have to wonder how he would hold up at a high profile job, under that level of scrutiny.
I think his craziness could fly at Purdue since people aren't taking our football serious at the moment anyways and the pressure is nothing compared to higher level programs. Also his wife he met in Kalamazoo, so that could play in our favor too as she may want to stay in the area too, never underestimate the power of a hot wife.
Of course I don't know where his ex and kids live, might want to go closer to them. Just hoping we get lucky this go around and not end up with our third choice like we did with Hazell.
