Outside blind refs can anyone else score

Goldin is an absolute embarrassment to the game of basketball.

He flops every game. Has been doing it for 3 years. Acts like he has been shot whenever there is contact. Screams out too. Softest 7 footer I’ve seen.
Maybe our team needs to take a crash course on flopping, screaming and crying. Seems to fool sh!++y @ss refs.

No, our team needs to learn how to catch the ball when dumped off to you down low and then take it strong to the basket for a dunk where no one can block it. Purdue has to play better to overcome such deficiencies. It would have helped if someone other than the 3 did something offensively. Knock down just one three, Heidi / Colvin could have helped.

Incredible that it looks like we have a depth problem.

Referees on the whole aren't doing a good job this year. Most of the time physical hand checking is allowed full court which is not basketball. Perfectly vertical defenders outside the circle are called for blocking when an offensive player steamrolls them. I will be the first to admit that this type of officiating sometimes benefits Purdue but at least our team is coached to play D with their feet. Michigan players consistently went over the back of our players last night with plenty of contact and only 1 call that I recall. It appears that officials have been told to "speed up the game" by the way calls are being made. I've seen similar things in Big East and the SEC but not as blatant as last night.

I'm unsure "a" zone will be a problem, but "a" zone like a 2-3 or 2-1-2 very easily might since it puts bodies initially in the middle of the lane, and along the baseline and makes the short pocket pass from Braden harder, while surrounding Trey with bodies and making it harder for Braden to get in the lane. It "should" allow easier rebounding for a player like Cam to shoot the gap for a putback...however, Purdue doesn't spread it out enough with a 3 ball threat and the ball doesn't move as quick as needed and needs to come out of Treys hand a bit more.

A zone against Purdue should be a welcomed sight allowing smaller players to find gaps to rebound and have more good looks on the perimeter, but outside of Braden and Fletcher...who is deadly behind the arc...a freshman called CJ is capable, but still a freshman that would be put into a bigger role and so a zone in the recent past is not as welcomed site as the previous Purdue teams. Trey is not a threat to score at the FT line and without the perimeter threat to pull out the baseline due to worrying about Purdue's shooters, the zone can take the baseline to help on Trey when he dribbles and make it difficult for Braden to get to the rim and so the weaknesses of the zone are not exploited while it's strength makes it more difficult for PUrdue's strengths and so until Purdue is effective against it I expect to see it as well.

I expect IU to zone us, just like they did all second half vs MSU. Although, msu is awful at the 3 ball. But I bet IU zones us a lot.

To attack it as a team, it does take teh ball out of braden's hands more...or should if hte zone is any good, but could be a blessing if Purdue spread it by shooting well as a result of good ball movement and players getting into the gaps to score and rebound and so it takes the ball out of Braden's hands a bit, reduces the short roll's effectiveness as well and is not penalized by the other players on the team
