That's why I said projected. I believe it was CBS that had us at number 3. I'll have to see the other teams play obviously but on paper it's not that outlandish. I think Yogi is the best PG in the B1G. I can see why people would say Tremble but Yogi outplayed him in their match ups last year. Blackmon averaged around 16 points as a freshman and should be better. Not the jump I think a lot of people expected because of the injury but still a really good 2 guard. Johnson is solid. Zeisloft shot 45% from 3 last year. I consider Williams part of the backcourt as I see him as the wing in a 3 guard lineup. That's a lot of talent and experience in the backcourt.

Of course, that's all on the offensive end. The jury is still out of this year's defense. They played much more aggressively against Ottawa than they did at any point last year which was promising. Johnson in particular.

We'll just have to disagree about the B1G back courts. All of those teams have talent but I think IU will have the highest offensive output. Our offense was somewhere around 10th in the nation on a guard-centric team last year and I'm expecting it to go up.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree.
The games I watch, defense is still very much part of the equation.

I think IU's back court has the credentials to be one of the best. However, those credentials are no more than equal to the credentials of several other schools, so I understand the skeptics. Looking at the BIG only, each of those competing backcourts have their issues too.


UM has proven they are good players, but they will be hampered this year by not having much of a front court. That could keep the guard production down. They also seem susceptible to injuries, and may be recovering still from last year. Rusty maybe? Sometimes shooters never find that same grove again.


Maryland has the horses on paper. The kid coach K kicked off Duke's team is good, but maybe he is poison too. Until the turtles show me that everybody plays together well, I'll reserve my judgment.

Yes your backcourt scores points. But they also give up a lot of points. Blackmon still looks terrible on defense.

If they took the time to look it up. I doubt they would be so confident in this season.

Sure we do, that's why the primary point of discussion this offseason was defense. IMO, Crean's continued employment at IU after this season will be contingent upon the team's ability to improve on the defensive end. We're just hoping the improvement is there because this team has the talent to make a run if they can turn up the pressure.
