OT - Mitch vs Cordova

Cordova was a disaster for Purdue. She damaged both academics and sports, while lining her pockets. Never was so happy for my school as when she was ushered out. Mitch is doing fine. He needs more time to fix what Cordova screwed up. I just hope he can fix the academic issues as quickly as he fixed the sports issues.

I have a very close family member who was a high ranking academic official with Jischke, Cordova, and Mitch. Cordova was by far the wost.

Was at the Missouri game earlier in the year where a real nice mid 30’s brother and sister were sitting in front of us. During the “where’s Mitch” segment, the sister (from Houston) stands up and starts booing and yelling “Bring Back Cordova!” I was really surprised by this as everyone seems to love Mitch and the job he’s doing. Why would anyone want to bring Cordova back?

This is a joke. The only people that prefer Cordova are the PC crowd, educational administrators and professors. Mitch is a superstar and has enhanced Purdue's profile nationally and internationally while keeping the cost of Purdue education down. Cordova did nothing to advance the Purdue brand and the football program died on her watch. There is no way she would have approved the many investments that have been made to advance the football program.

looking at those national rankings, Purdue's undergrad ratings have really tailed off from what they once were. in the 70's the common uninformed person thought Purdue was one of the Ivy League schools. Now it's known as a school that produces frozen chicken.

Did it all go down hill under Cordova? Or has it been a gradual decline?

This is the quintessential Wolegib post. Lots of baseless opinions, anecdotes, incorrect conclusions and too many words.

Provide links for Purdue's ranking each of the past 40 years. I don't believe it's gone down significantly. I always remember it being top 10, which it still is. It certainly didn't fall significantly in the 6 or so years that Cordova was at the helm.

Somewhat on topic: I was looking at the Purdue database, and the average ACT in engineering is 31. That's incredible. I know that it was 28 just 10 years ago.

Who here was a student during her tenure? We just need somebody who’s willing to say she touched them inappropriately and we’re good. Doesn’t need to be true.
