I read an article where he would be on the top of UNC's list to replace Hubert, but it said to disregard that option as he isn't leaving Purdue.
This is what I tell my iu friends. It’s all Knights fault because he didn’t recruit Painter outta HS. He’s said he wanted to go to iu badly but the offer never came.

I have been assured on the IU board that painters first 5 years would have got him fired from IU tho.
If Paint had the recruits that just fall into the lap of IU, he woulda had them back pretty quick. Glad Bobby didn’t recruit him.
It's also knights fault that he forced their administration to look the other way when his behaviors were not professional because they were so addicted to wins. That carried forward into a program that has never understood how to do things the right way
Some Indiana fans might claim that, but I doubt it's true. Indiana didn't fire Crean after 5 years. Painter's first five years at Purdue were actually better. Both coaches started at the bottom of the league.
Now, Indiana might very well have fired Painter after his SECOND five years. That would have been a collassal mistake. Purdue stuck with Painter--and we know how that's turned out.
