As if all their pre-season turmoil wasn't enough...brand new coach and reformulated "team" prepped for an 8PM (CT) start last night, but after storm delays for three hours, they learn they go back home and play (no TV this time) at 1PM today. Only thing worse (or silver lining for UI) is that the Kent State team had planned to charter back to Ohio after the game, so their team is scattered around available hotel rooms, some as far as 100 miles away! Some of those KSU players probably didn't hit a bed before 2AM and have to be back for a team breakfast at when (?) for a 1PM kickoff of a game to be played in extreme heat & humidity? If Illinois doesn't win this game, they may not win a game all year!

Actually I am thinking this might be a turn around season for them....new Head Coach is an offensive whiz and all indications are that the players love him!

Illinois Looked really really good
Yes, they looked good...but against a predicted bottom-feeder MAC team that was 2-9 last year and after the Friday game was postponed very late Friday night, had it's team scattered around dozens of hotels wherever they could locate an available room or two, some as far as 100 miles away. I'm not assuming much based on this game, or the next one either against "powerhouse" Western Illinois. I'll become a believer if they show anything at North Carolina on Week 3.

In the meantime...BEAT MARSHALL!

I will say this... The school fired their head coach right before the season. That took guts and guts is enough. It would take us half a decade of losing to figure out its time. Most schools figure it out a lot faster than that. Which is why in the long run they'll grow tall and we'll continue to fall. It sure is amazing seeing Temple stomp Penn State. Northwestern becoming dominant. And us bottom feeding for a win against ISU.
