OT: Fox is reporting that the Colts have lost their new coach

not too surprising
since ballard and mcdaniels shared the same agent (lamonte)

was more surprised he was able to convince the rest of the colts organization to even be interested in mcdaniels in the first place

Ballard is probably avoiding isrsay as much as possible right now !
Jimmy is so pilled up, he has no clue what is going on.

The Colts did not lose "off the field" on this one. They avoided a real jack off for a coach. A dude who just got dropped by his agent. Think about that for a minute.

How did Ballard mishandle the Luck situation? And how do they look like fools regarding Luck's injury?

If the new coach comes in and does a good job no one will care that he wasn't the first choice.

Are you this dramatic with everything?
The Colts are the laughing stock of everyone...

He was dropped by his agent because the agent is also Ballard's agent...nothing more to it than that.

Ballard flat out lied about Luck for the course of the year, and, to this very day, is still not being honest about the situation.

Why would you hire a guy that was known to be a douche...and petty...and childish...from an organization known to cheat and lack morals? If one is honest, this whole debacle should not have been any sort of surprise at all.

Ballard hired the wrong guy...thankfully, that guy proved to be an even bigger idiot than known, and, won't be the coach.

This has nothing to do with being dramatic at all...the notion that there is any rivalry with the Patriots is beyond laughable...think about the two franchises since the ridiculous Deflategate scandal...and think about the present situations of both...the Patriots could not care less about the Colts, never mind deem them any sort of rival.

It wasn't a surprise to a lot of people.

Agreed.

I believe Ballard acknowledged that the there hasn't been a rivalry since Peyton left by saying it (the rivalry) was back on.

He had all of the information for weeks on what he was walking into. He shook with Irsay and Ballard on becoming the next Colts head coach. Even had the Colts hire the three assistant coaches he wanted. He agreed to today's press conference introducing him as the head coach. I say the Colts dodged a HUGE bullet if the guy's word and hand shake mean so little. Says a lot about his character.
This:

My brother in law happens to be very good friends with a former Patriots and Colts player who explained that McDaniels was all but assured to be the next HC a few weeks ago. After the first interviews, he was the #1 guy and had essentially tentatively accepted the job. This former player was pretty excited because he felt McDaniels had really learned from his stop at Denver and then coming back to become an OC to see where he had went wrong and to correct those mistakes.

I hope the Colts go after some one that isn't just a retread of a hire like Fisher. It might take 4-5 years of building to get back to where the Colts can compete in their own division with Tennessee and Jacksonville looking like they will be incredibly good for the foreseeable future.

Build for 3 years from now (likely Luck sits out another season and needs another full year to get back) with a focus on the defensive line, LB's, and WR's...the Colts should be more than ready to compete.
