On the double reversal/flea flicker, watch how all three lead lineman go down at once.

did they trip or was that planned? Looks like it was planned, but maybe they just got in each others way?

That is odd. Hadn't noticed that part of it. Maybe they just knew there was no one else to block on that side and wanted to get out of JA's way.

Yeah, I was thinking maybe he was supposed to run through them and their prone, still bodies would be there to trip up pursuit?

Looks like a MSU player went down in front of them and caused them to trip.

You know I have to admit, I fully expected a flag for one reason or another on that play. But the other thing I notice was how number 0 came flashing in and laid a really good and clean block to help JA along the way.
I’ve watched that play about a dozen times and Milton’s hustle is by far my favorite part. Just follow what he alone did on that play.
1) Came across at the snap to take the reverse pitch from Jackson
2) Pitched back to Aidan
3) Immediately picked up the edge rusher who had beaten King and was bearing down on Aidan
4) Turns and starts to follow the play downfield
5) Sees Jackson begin to cut across the field and all out sprints about 40 yards to throw another block just inside the 10 yard line.

Here is another video with a great angle of the play at the end:

I think the guys on ESPN even commented about how impressive it was that there was no flag along the way, and, how a play like that almost inevitably ends up with one for a lineman being downfield...Purdue executed that play almost perfectly, and, a couple of really tremendous individual efforts along the way as well by guys involved.

Even if that play had gone for next to nothing, it was a great play call that was executed really well...it was a bonus that it worked as magnificently as it did.

That play was executed to perfection, which is tough because a lot of it is based on timing and usually, that's not a OLineman's best attribute.
But, they got where they had to be, got down field, started wiping guys out and Anthrop made some great cuts.
I also noticed the three OL all go down about the same time, not sure if one DB just went low or they all went after the same DB?
Big time props to Bell and especially Wright for not giving up on the play, hustling their asses off (Wright on a sprint like he was running the 40 at the NFL combine) and throwing key blocks to get JA in the endzone.

The way the line shuffled left and actually backpedalled a bit was key, as noted. No one downfield.

I can't believe JA made it around the last guy (#18?), seemed like he had the play made.
