Viewership down about 60% compared to 2018. What’s going on?
Olympic fatigue? We just had a summer Olympics half a year ago. Plus, some of the American athletes (e.g. Eileen Gu) now compete for China, which makes it even less of an interest for Americans viewers. You'd have thought NBC would make Gu the face of the Olympics if she was representing USA.
Not to mention, with the extra week in NFL, it is now coinciding with the Super Bowl.
All pretty good points except the TZ thing. I’d have to disagree because the 2018 Olympics was in Korea.I think this is the trend and has to do with more issues than China human rights. Winter Olympics has always been less of a draw, then you have the time zone difference, so you can't really watch anything live. Plus you now have a so many different streaming options of things to watch, you don't have the captive audience with nothing else to watch like you used to.
Even my parents are now doing the streaming TV with the free Pluto, Xumo and Roku services. So even they people who will not pay for TV have easy options and other things to watch.
I haven't watched any of it. We now have professionals instead of amatuers, drugged up athletes, trans athletes, goofy snow sports that were invented within the past few years and someone is always trying to protest something.Viewership down about 60% compared to 2018. What’s going on?
