Wanted to keep this thread separate from the analysis of the game. I felt this crew was overmatched to call the speed of this game. Called too many things they thought they saw but in reality didn't! If that was targeting on the hit of the QB you might as well stop playing football altogether...one step as the release of the pass occurs, initial contact with both arms to the chest, then both players lowering their helmets to complete natural motions of a tackle...on their touchdown at the goal line, again the speed of the play resulted in a call that I don't believe was correct...unfortunately the angle of the picture down the goal line was needed to see the knee, ball moving and ball crossing the plane was not available...the 3rd and one spot was also bad but it was also do to speed of the play and the spotting official trailing the play too far back to make the correct call. Best advice I ever received in my officiated career of doing football, basketball, baseball and softball was not to be in a hurry to make a spontaneous call on a bang bang play and wait that extra second or two to make the right call!
