Greeting from the press box at Ross-Ade Stadium, where the Boilermakers host Iowa for Homecoming.

We have rules — which we forget at Illinois and this place turned into a complete nightmare (not really) - among them hands inside the vehicle at all times, no texting and drive and hands off the meatloaf. Really.

Ja'Whaun Bentley, if you didn't see it in the separate thread, is out today, dressed in street clothes. He'll miss his second consecutive week. Jimmy Herman get his second straight start, likely. I thought he played well for the Boilermakers last week, might be a little quicker than Bentley, so perhaps not a huge short-term drop-off. But obviously would like Bentley back at some point soon.

Markell Jones should be good to go today.

What to expect today? Good question. The theme today is the same as it seems to be every game; Purdue has to stop the run, which it's not done, aside from Nevada, this season. Even last week against Illinois, when it felt like Purdue was better, it gave up more than 300 on the ground. Only 100 was in the second half and overtime, so maybe something to build on. But if the Hawkeyes go for more than 200, then seems like they would have a pretty big advantage. How does Purdue stop it? Watch Marcus Freeman, he'll tell you.

The Boilermakers will have to deal without Domo Young. Not sure what will happen there, because Bilal Marshall is capable, but in a different way. He'll not be the big downfield threat. And it might have an adverse affect on DeAngelo Yancey. I'd suspect that Purdue will try to move him around even more, get him in motion, put him on the right side of the field (rather than always on the left), but he'll need to come through. And Gregory Phillips likely moves into a slot again (maybe), but he's got to catch the ball. Crazy how good he was in training camp and bad in games.

Purdue needs to keep the game close, give itself a chance at the end. We'll see. All four of us here took Iowa, just like we took Illinois last week. A bad loss would be bad, I think, just another indication that Purdue, under this regime, can't build any sort of momentum.

We have an hour, listen to the podcast.
