Well, it's obvious. Hazell had to take a hard look at the film. Why did it take so long?
Just goes to show you the lies. "Darrell has so many contacts of impressive people." Essentially no one applied, nothing better came along, and this was the best since Morgan has put previous experience as something Darrell must hire. Why did it take so long?
And Lester as QB coach? It doesn't seem like he lit the world on fire at Syracuse.
I assume Freeman is probably the DC then?

“I’ll look at the candidate pool. I’ll ask questions, but at the end of the day I’ve never tried to impose my judgment. That’s what (the head coaches) are hired to do. I’ll ask process questions to make sure we’re being thorough and effective.Did Morgan actually say this line??
Bulldog, I think Lester is actually a good hire. Syracuse's offense was pretty good last year. They had the worst defense in the ACC, which killed them. They put up 24 points against LSU and 27 points against Clemson.
I'll take those numbers vs those teams, if it was Shoop's O vs those teams we would be keeping count on one hand how many times we would cross the mid field stripe.Wow, mid-20s. Just jaw-dropping totals.
Well if we're counting 3 and outs, we'd be to 20+ in no time!I'll take those numbers vs those teams, if it was Shoop's O vs those teams we would be keeping count on one hand how many times we would cross the mid field stripe.
This. Even Tiller with Brees often struggled to get out of the twenties against really good defenses.I'll take those numbers vs those teams, if it was Shoop's O vs those teams we would be keeping count on one hand how many times we would cross the mid field stripe.
I think Malone will surprise quite a few on this board. He'll dumb down the offense and make the game simple for younger players on the team. I think this will help the team all around, as it should lead for longer offensive possession and keep the defensive rested to be able to make plays when it counts. Biggest problem with Schoop's offense is that he still thought he was coaching in the NFL. He basically made all his QBs mental cases, trying to get them to memorize the Schoop encyclopedia of football instead of making the game easy for them. This in turn equates to double digit 3 and outs in a game, and a gassed defense before the second half. If Hazell and Co simplify the offense and make the game easier for the players, I think they have enough talent to win 5-7 games next year.
