same here, but a great D stand on their first drive also like the way Malone used the early success of Jones to set up some Blough runs.
And I love going for it on 4th there. Good guys out to an early lead.
Our record won't be much different but my enjoyment level this year has been dramatically higher than the past couple of years. Love tnat these guys haven't quit and really enjoy our offense.

Anyone who can't see the difference since Parker took over is just being silly. Sure he's handcuffed by the Haze's wretched recruiting, but they are throwing everything but the kitchen sink at em.
You're seeing what you want to see. We have still been getting blown out and most of these trick plays have been complete failures.
One fact is that our record could not be any worse than it has been since Parker took over and if we lose today it is a near lock he will go winless.
Have you been to a game since Parker took over? Anyone who knows what they are looking at can see a difference.

to be expected cause we predominately throw and give up too early on the run. Yes, Parker has been better but bottom line these coaches will not be around next year.
we are playing a CB at LB, thanks to Hazell being the worst recruiter ever. The fact we are competing with teams for even a half is a miracle.

The final results are the same, but the Boilers are at least more competitive early on in these games. Yes, depth, pass defense, and fatigue catch up with them.....that's partly a by-product of poor recruiting. IMO, the team is performing better so far than under DH.
It's still frustrating.....no doubt.....let's see if they can hang in there against the Wildcats.
don't like throwing long on a short yardage situation, know it worked last week but the odds are against you.
I think Parker's MO at this point is that only way to win a game, is to go against every tendency in the book.
What happened to the "we have a good chance in each game this season, I'm going to remain optimistic" mentality? Not trying to start an argument, but you seem to change your mind on things a lot
I believe coach Parker has a realistic shot in the rest of the games this season just based on the team playing more competitive. Will they win a game? Maybe not, but no one can argue they've been playing better under Parker than Hazell

Boilers pass defense is not very good, and that's being kind. I always like the idea of trying to at least take away the #1 weapon.
Carr has 12 TD's this year, tying the school single-season record. Coming into this season, he had only 23 receptions total.
Too bad they couldn't "break" the scoreboard and keep it saying "First Q/2nd Q." Could always blame it on MB.
It is going to be tough on new staff. The cupboard is beyond bare. I am not sure anyone on our D would start at another Big10 school. OL is "experienced" and terrible. No skill players to speak of. Small, weak and slow is never a great combo. Scares me that all Hazell's commits are staying. Likely no other offers. Thankfully the west division is awful.
We have decent skill players. We just have zero depth and end up playing true freshman and sophomores. I think we are two decent classes from being respectable with the right coach.
First of all you took some liberties with that quote to misrepresent my position.
Additionally, yea I change my mind often when confronted with changing circumstances. Fire a coach in the middle of the season and tell your fans you are giving up on the season and yea I will take a different view on the season.
You can believe whatever you want right now but the games will still be played and the results will still be the results.
