Can’t sleep so I slogged through all these posts. That was fun.
Name all the guards that Purdue has had since 1980 who met BOTH these criteria:
1) Did not play afraid in March
2) Could get his own shot and produce on offense and lead the team effectively in March
I would not fire MP, but failing to recognize this and recruiting accordingly are his and Gene’s legacy. Smith and DGL seem to be wired differently. I guess we’ll see. Find a PG in the portal who’s wired differently. With all due respects to the Hunters and IT’s of the world, the way they play does not work.
MP is far from stupid. Maybe a few guys would have turned out differently if they were not beaten into submission to feed the post. Why he can’t see that this has been a 4 decade long problem is baffling to me.
