Seth Davis is a douchebag. Always has been, always will be and he seems to hate Purdue with a passion.
He has never had a good thing to say about Purdue that I️ can recall
In that twitter thread Stephen Bardo/Big Ten and ESPN announcer replied Purdue is top 10 which was cool. He onbgje other hand has always complimented Purdue well.

Seth seems like one of those guys that places a lot of emphasis on success in the NCAA tournament... an area where PU always leaves it's fans wanting more.
I think the real issue is these “experts” have never watched Purdue play one single half. The narrative of the team last year being Biggie and his merry band of no talent ass clowns is idiotic. Some of the people in Big Ten media (so people that have actually watched the team) are saying that the team may actually be better this year due to being more balanced. It’s too early to tell, but I think that could be a real possibility.

Can't believe so many people complaining here and on Twitter about it. He has us ranked 24th....not unranked. We haven't done anything this season yet to prove we are a top 10 team so at this point it's mostly subjective. If we go down and win Atlantis and he still has us at 24, talk to me then. Until then our fan base just comes off as a bunch of whiners when we complain about being ranked too low.
Totally agree, but he has WVU ranking 4 spots ahead of us. They already have a loss not counting the game we beat them in Columbus.
I don’t disagree, except to ask what MSU has done tp be ranked at #2? ..or ND at #13? These are all preseason guesses. I don’t agree with us being at #24. We are under rated.

It's very subjective at this point and he still has us at #24. I just don't see it as disrespectful as so many apparently do.

You can't get blown out by 30 in the tournament and lose your All-American and think you are going to get much respect from the national media. The "secret scrimmage" doesn't count and whether or not anyone uses it to rank anyone is completely up to them.
admittedly it doesn't count , jus t like the WUG doesn't count. but any knowledgeable basketball media journalist that does this for a living should have known about it and done his rankings accordingly.
Did he said he didn't know about it? Maybe he knows about it and just doesn't think a "secret scrimmage" result means anything. I know I don't assign it much weight in my thinking.
The thing I really can't understand is how voters have NW and Minnesota ahead of Purdue. I think Purdue is a top 15 team, but can understand the lack of knowledge nationally. But if these guys are ranking other Big Ten teams that Purdue finished ahead of in every way last year, I can't understand that.
This is why I pay attention to these polls to see who is getting attention nationally, then go to KenPom, Sagarin, etc and find that Purdue is significantly ahead of both teams in the metrics.
I just don't care about rankings. If everybody complaining about the rankings just ignored them, their lives would be better too.
The only thing that matters to me are big ten and NCAA tournament wins. Everything else (B10 Tourney and non-conference) is just icing on the cake.
It's funny to me that out of 200+ teams, people complain about being 5 spots too low. Why does it matter?
So they beat us head-to-head on our homecourt and we lose our best player and there's no possible way that anyone could think they are better than us?
It's a pretty small sample size to go off one game. I'd use the regular season and postseason first, then head to head as a tiebreaker. It's not inconceivable if Minnesota had a track record like Purdue has in recent years but that isn't the case either.
The more I type about it though, the more ridiculous I feel discussing it. It is such a subjective thing that I won't get too worked up about it. I'll just say I disagree.
I made no comment on rankings. I don't think they should do any until Dec 1st, lets things settle in a little.
I'm not even saying I agree. I am saying that I can see why someone would reasonably think that. We lost Swanigan and have yet accomplish anything this season so far.
Screw Seth, screw the rankings, screw the NCAA, screw "having to prove yourself", screw the Tourney.........just gimme a cold winter's night and a knock out, drag out Big Ten game and I'll be happy. I don't trust anything else...........
I disagree, this team is like 15-1 since Biggie left Purdue. If anyone had followed them this summer ,they would know that. We played 10 or 11 real games in the WUG plus a couple of practice games prior to that. We've played 4 games this fall in which 2 of them are real games which count. We're still talking about Carson taking bad shots, Vince disappearing, and Isaac can't guard anyone, Really? Come people Biggie is gone. This is a really good team.
