Successive Monday morning checks of Purdue’s own individual rushing stats for Friday night’s Duck Walk showed “Ethon Cole” and later “Trey Smith” as the Purdue player who ran 11 times for a game-high 93 yards.

If Purdue can’t even get its own damned stats right for its own damned players -- and arguably its one and only highlight in a nationally televised fiasco -- what levels of pathetic performance and/or error-filled chaos are being allowed to dominate this athletic department?

Has to be a technical glitch. When I saw your post, I just simply googled Purdue Oregon box score, the first hit was this very same page. I went to it, and it was correct. Now that I went through each step, I see the Trey Smith. Weird. I'm sure someone from Purdue did not do this.

Ethon Cole wore #23 last year. Trey Smith is the 'other' #23 this year. Ironically also an Illinois transfer.

Not having the names on the jerseys of players but Boilermakers there instead doesn't help in identifying players, especially when some players wear the same numbers. I can remember some time ago when Purdue got penalized for having two players on the field with identical numbers. People on here defending or attacking Brohm can also add that one.

Yep, it was #10 on a special teams play. But I think actually they caught it in time, but had to use a timeout to avoid getting penalized and the timeout was very much needed at the time.
