NIL: it only gets thicker.

It’s going to get real complicated. Scholarships will soon become taxable income before it’s done.

Will there be a 50/50 split between women and men? I could see a lot of future lawsuits taking place.

Guys got to greedy and too me first for their own good and didn’t consider the consequences or ramifications of their actions.

A female shot putter receiving more NIL than the starting football Qb? It’s possible. If the female shot putter is at an FCS school like SIU, and is on the Olympic team, it has already happened.

And what about the IVY league schools and military academies? Will their scholarships be considered as NIL and taxable?

Will school decide to direct all of their BIG 10 network money to academics? And then let the athletic boosters worry about finding ways to pay their athletes?

Will athletes become employees of schools or booster clubs?

I can see a lot of future lawsuits. I could even see the NCAA disbanding. Or declaring bankruptcy.

One way to combat this is to recruit players who don’t need a year to redshirt to build up their weight and conditioning. Instead of recruiting 250 pound offensive linemen and feeding them supplements and protein shakes for a year, Start recruiting linemen who are already 320 pounds.

Looking back at history. The older players were not always that much better.

Possible but unlikely. Football has a real dropoff at a lot of positions by late 30s. If you aren't good enough for the pros by late 20s, I'm not sure you're good enough to play over someone in their early to mid 20s but I suppose there could be off cases here and there.

I don't think being 30 v 22 will necessarily be men among boys though. Not in football. Now basketball could get interesting. At any rate, it will be interesting.
