Do you think a night game at Purdue (if they had lights) would draw a bigger crowd than what they are drawing now?

I don't think it matters right now what time the games are. It comes down to winning. If we are winning, Ross Ade will draw a crowd whether the games at the usual time of 12:00, 3:30 from time to time or the occasional night game.

Yes, I do think the novelty of a night game would draw more fans particularly students. I agree this would be temporary if we did not combine a night event with certainly a more competitive, winning football team.

Go Boilers!

Lights at RA would help attendance in my opinion. A couple of night games on BTN would work.

I go to basketball to cheer and watch the team do well. That is important for me. I still go to the games when they are doing poorly, but it is not as fun.
Football is more of an experience. We park on the tailgate field even if we are just drinking a few beers in the car before the game (with the noon games, that's about all we have time for driving from Fort Wayne). We love the walk to the game, the feel of being outside, and the whole football atmosphere. Anything to enhance the experience - including of course winning some games :) - will draw in larger crowds. Night games allow for a longer game day experience and make the trip worth it for people traveling from far away. My brother lives in Louisville for example. He would never travel for a noon game but probably would for a night game. It's a 6 hour round trip from Lville. It is nice to spend more time at the destination than in the car. Night games (even 3:30 games) do that.

Disagree completely. Anyone with kids in fall sports cannot go to most day games, at least until late October or November. First game I can go to this year is October 31, for that very reason, and I know A LOT of other people in my situation, both IU and Purdue grads.
But a green eyeshade guy like Burke will never get that.

I can understand and respect that. I officiate high school and USSF soccer, and this time of the year is very busy. There are games every day, especially on the weekends, for the first couple of months once school starts up. I have no free time. I usually like to get to one or two games a year. This has not happened for a couple of years for me though. I am determined to make it happen this year. I am just gong to have to tell them I cannot do games on a couple of Saturdays.

With me living in Louisville, it makes it very hard to get to night games (contrary to a previous post on here from someone else). I have done it in the past, but I don't get home until 2:00 in the morning. Maybe, I should not go to them anyway, because I don't seem to bring them much luck (the famous fumble game with Wisconsin and the last night game with Notre Dame). Of course, we could get a hotel room, and we have done that before. However, if it is anywhere in the Lafayette area, the prices are jacked up for the game weekends. I realize that night games are easier for anyone within a hour or so from the West Lafayette area, but it is harder on people making the games from further away.

Interesting point. I know that people are busy come Saturday morning. I think the best time may be 3:30. That way people have longer to travel to the game and it is still manageable to drive home. I think if they did one night game each season it would draw a big crowd just because. There is something about a prime time game and getting hyped up about it all day. High School stadiums have lights so why can't we? I don't understand???
