soMe random poster is claiming he talked to one of the seniors dad.

“Spoke to one of the Purdue starters dads the other night. While he thinks its nice they are having a good season he is not convinced they can make a tourney run and has doubts. (wait and see mode) I found that kinda sad. If Painter doesn't make it out of the sweet 16 this year will he have a job next year”

Can you say pathological liar?

They let Crean keep his job for a number of years after taking the #1 team and losing in the Sweet Sixteen.

I don’t know...I was over there last night while watching their game and they have a Thread discussing the fact that their cheerleaders need sexier uniforms to entice 5* recruits to IU. I thought it was a joke till Isaw it was 7pages worth of posts and had been going for nearly a week!!! That’s a thread I would not want to have to justify on our Basketball Forum...

No, the stupidest board post is (lackof)courtsense's claim that the foul at the end of the Michigan game should not have been called because it did not happen. Replays and the comments of the announcers at the game spoke directly of a foul being made. Dakich said that the foul was made but as a ref he would not have called it because of the time remaining and thus deciding the game. The other announcer disagreed and said a foul is a foul.

The problem with (lackof) courtsense's comment is that earlier in the very same thread he declared that time remaining should have no influence on the call. So he denies blatant demonstration in the replay or else contradicts himself. On top of that he also claimed the just prior out of bounds play call should not have been reversed even though the refs spent many minutes looking at replays and the rule states clear evidence is necessary for the overturn of the original call. Even the announcers reviewing video agreed with the overturn.

Admittedly rivaling (lackof)'s commentary for sheer foolishness is the poster arguing that one should not consider Purdue's football team better than IU's this year even though Purdue won the game. He discounts the subsequent bowl win (something IU hasn't done in decades) and the Way Too Early Top 25 listing in which Purdue appears and IU does not.

Sometimes you just have to wonder.....

Let's not forget that these are the same people who thought they should hire Quick Slick Rick Pitino.

Courtsense may be the dumbest poster over there, that's a hell of an achievement.

Nah, loserjimbo
ahhhh. I like Jimbo. i don't go over to peegs very often, and i never post there, but they provided some interesting reading.

as for the IU cheerleaders, it's been said the female weekend college escorts really enhanced the football recruiting efforts at LSU, Miss, Miss st, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Florida.

I don’t really count Courtsense posts because he is like the idiot savant of idiocy.

That board and fan base is a complete cesspool and will be for years. Let's do a quick recap.
We beat them with our 1st year football coach for the Bucket Game and propelled us to a bowl game, and forced them to stay home. They know their little run with the Hazel experiment is over; while we're trending up and looking to be ranked in the preseason polls next year (23rd).
They bring in Archie, and Fred Glass was forced to go the furthest he could from the weirdness (Crean). He rode the standard 1st year new coach momentum and landed a few nice players for next year (top 100) however getting 'blown out' in his first home game by Indiana State. Let me remind everyone, the Sycamores emptied their bench on them. Talent alone, IU should have won by 15 points, and most logical IU fans (TIC) will acknowledge this. IU teams next year will actually be younger and it will be a miracle even if the conference is down for them to make the tourney. Now they see C Holtman who they could have had go to O$U and having great success in his first year.
Then we fast forward to the present, and our team currently is destroying everyone they play and ranked 3rd in the country. This is with no burger boys, just guys that have bought in and developed. We're getting love on ESPN and all the social networks indicating we're potentially the team to beat for the National Title. Granted, not saying we will, but having your rival getting that attention is enough to send the fan base into a massive meltdown. Knight who led them to glory 30+ years ago won't even step foot on that campus, even with former players begging him to come to a game, while Keady is a regular in the stands at Purdue games and follows our team religiously.
So yes they feel the need to start rumors and do whatever they can to make themselves feel better. You know why, because we're all they think about and wish they had everything we have.

And Louisville. Don't forget Louisville.

Courtsense tried to lie his way out of it, and destewart abused him. Then Court claimed someone was threatening to beat him up. He has a history of embellishing things (he's not an IU grad and doesn't go to games, as he sometimes claims) so watching him squirm is comedy gold. I've posted there under a different screen name for several years and he has no idea who he's corresponding with, though he swears he doesn't read this board. He'll talk about it in that thread though.

LOL. Definitely in a league of his own. Waaay out on the lower wing of the bell curve. I think he said that his kids went to Purdue. Must have gotten their brains from Mom.

Yeah go read that threat Purdue isnplaying great. That guy comes off as the most toxic and insufferable poster.

In my squeakiest iuscott voice...uh hem...I've been watching sports for over 40 years and I don't know why anyone would ever post on another schools website. I've watched sports for over 40 years...

I drop by to get my weekly chuckles. It's easier to name the three reasonable regulars than to list the idiots.

ok, you people forced me to go there. I felt obligated, and actually left a post. You know how I get when somebody quotes only a portion of my post. The fury and wrath and only quoting a snippet of my hear say. and it was Boiler 73 who also posted the same post on some national rivals board.

In going over there, I am left with one question. why doesn't destewart post in this forum anymore? I know he posts on women's basketball, but he used to always post on the men's basketball boards I posted on. he's one of the few posters I respected enough to never argue with. (well maybe not a whole lot) I didn't realize he's 76 !

Surprised from a school that hold Kinsey in high esteem? :)

Isn't the phrase "stupidest IU" an oxymoron?
Historically speaking and with the evolutionary process of dumbing us down, the likelihood of identifying the accuracy of the qualifier may not exist in reality. The odds and such are like trying to find the exact same crystalline structure in a multiple snowflakes.

I suggested a couple of times that i wished he'd hang around here more. I'd like that too. I am pretty sure he's more deeply involved in the women's program ... meaning intellectually/emotionally ... not that he's a part of it.

Des (his pen name) is quite the historian on Purdue and sports in general. His frat brother used to coach at Kokomo years ago. I enjoy his input a lot...

Lol. G-strings and pasties wouldn’t even be enough to make our cheerleaders enticing. They’re historically busted. IU always threw girls from Chi Omega, Tri-delt, and ZTA at the recruits/players when I was there . No point in using cheerleaders when there are much more attractive options on campus.

My buddies lived on the floor above Gordon. Dude was cleaning. up.

Mike and I have been good friends and occasionally keep up with one another on FB. While he is a graduate of DePauw, he is one of the most loyal supporters of Purdue sports. And despite our countless debates over the years on the OGFP women's basketball board, he is one of the most intelligent and genuinely nice people from any of these boards I have ever met. Many people here could learn a lot from him.

JMHOAU

DES and I go back a long time on posting on Purdue forums. I started on the Mr. Hoops, and OldGoldFree gridiron forum. he was a regular poster on both the mens and womens hoops board. That forum/board sort of died about 3-4 years ago. there are still a couple of posters left. But, it's not close to what it once was.
