I can't see for Miles. what the heck, we want Fleck.H&R saying it's down to Miles or Fleck? Thoughts? I'm 100% in on PJ.
I really want PJ, but I am coming around on Les.H&R saying it's down to Miles or Fleck? Thoughts? I'm 100% in on PJ.
Question is will Purdue allow either of these two to bring in the type of football players it takes to win? Can and will we lower the bar? I think it would be a big mistake if they haven't looked at UH's Herman also and they may have!
I don't believe Fleck is on the radar. Just gut feel. That 247 report on Miles was odd as well. Like with election coverage, have to consider sources.H&R saying it's down to Miles or Fleck? Thoughts? I'm 100% in on PJ.
Why do we think that H&R would have some inside knowledge?
Ah, my bad. I read a forum about a fan boy site about a site using crystal balls. We'll know more tomorrow. He doesn't. He quoted a 247 article.
I can`t see Miles he used to make fun of of Purdue when he coached at Mich. years ago. Unless hes desperate for a p5 jobH&R saying it's down to Miles or Fleck? Thoughts? I'm 100% in on PJ.
Purdue is better than nothing (Miles) or WMU (Fleck) but I think if they wait, both could find jobs with similar pay that are less work. They may be wise to be patient. Maybe find a job where someone leaves to move up (FSU, LSU, Florida, NFL) and go in to an established program.I can`t see Miles he used to make fun of of Purdue when he coached at Mich. years ago. I didn't think we would get Nojel Eastern for B Ball, so who knows. I still think being a long time Purdue fan that we don't get a star but a solid sender like a Calhoun.Purdue is better than nothing (Miles) or WMU (Fleck) but I think if they wait, both could find jobs with similar pay that are less work. Nobody wants Calhoun, stop.I didn't think we would get Nojel Eastern for B Ball, so who knows. I still think being a long time Purdue fan that we don't get a star but a solid sender like a Calhoun.
I'll take the guy with the winning reputation, the guy who's actually done something, the guy who's won the big games.....Miles 100%. Fleck...not so much....remember the last "flash" MB hired. Les gives instant cred's to a distraught program, and as I've posted before those recruits he's contacted the last three years....my guess....some will come to Purdue for instant upgrades. Right now, MB2 can't afford to take a flyer on Fleck.H&R saying it's down to Miles or Fleck? Thoughts? I'm 100% in on PJ.
Your vote don`t count just like mine. He`s a better coach and he`s not 63 years old that demands 5-mil. a year.Nobody wants Calhoun, stop.
Please get off the "age" thing. At 63 and in good health, Les Miles could have 10 or more good years. Coach K at Duke is beyond 70 and has the # 1 team and shows no sign of retiring. Boeheim is still active and winning at 'Cuse. Bowden, Paterno, Holtz.....all went into their 7th decade.Your vote don`t count just like mine. He`s a better coach and he`s not 63 years old that demands 5-mil. a year.
I`m sorry I didn`t know you were his doctor. I would rather see Purdue get a younger coach and if he works out like Tiller did we can keep him around for 10 or 12 years. Please get off the "age" thing. Never said I was his doctor....what I did say is he's still young enough to give PU another good 8 to 10 years. Sure, he could die two years into the job but so could a 36 year-old. Age bias is not needed, especially with him being only 63. I'll take the experience over youth any time.I`m sorry I didn`t know you were his doctor. Olsen???? Hell, bring back Hope.Don't rule out Olson yet gents. It's the Purdue thing to do.
Hire Miles... in 5 years when he retires Brees will be done with the NFL & come back to Purdue to be the new head coach. Please get off the "age" thing. I agree with the age thing. The players at Penn St, Kansas St etc...all played hard for their coaches.
Fred Akers ring a bell.I'll take the guy with the winning reputation, the guy who's actually done something, the guy who's won the big games.....Miles 100%. So, just so I'm clear on your point, can any coach win at Purdue? You seem to think a coach can't win here. If my memory serves, we've won a bowl or two in the past.Fleck isn't coming to Purdue...period. There's no upside for him coming. He's better off not leaving WM this year if a "Purdue" type team is his only option. He should spend another year at WM and wait for a "good" offer. I'm sure this is what his agent is telling him. He'll want to go to a program he has a chance of winning at....Purdue isn't it....if Herman leaves Houston...that's the type of program he'll want.
Tim DeRuyter is available and he's a really good DC.So, just so I'm clear on your point, can any coach win at Purdue? You seem to think a coach can't win here. If my memory serves, we've won a bowl or two in the past.
I think he means at Purdue it is back to square one. If he can get the same money and go to a school that is at square 3 or higher, it would be a better job. If we can at least crack the top 10 on the conference in recruiting and develop guys we can get to 6-6 quick. So, just so I'm clear on your point, can any coach win at Purdue? He claims there's no "upside". I disagree. Everything is upside at this point.I think he means at Purdue it is back to square one. Absolutely. Rutgers, Illinois, etc. There are some other bad teams in the conference. He claims there's no "upside". I disagree. Everything is upside at this point.
