New potential 2016 target

All reports? Where do you see this?
People from Illinois website & Illinois St. on Twitter. They're saying if "Purdue offers its a done deal." Obviously take it with a grain of salt but he has connections to Purdue so I wouldn't doubt it.

Perhaps "tamper" the enthusiasm a little. The recruiting service vids are edited to only show made shots, steals, dunks, etc-just like FB QB's only show TD's and completions. He is a decent 3* with a good upside... but he's no Robbie Hummel. Good long range jumper-decent elevation on shots, rebounds and adequete ballhandling skills. He also plays in a very small conference in downstate rural IL with questionable competition. There are lots of 6'6 guys we could offer with higher profile and skill set- Maybe he would accept a preferred "walk-ok" spot or greyshirt?
reminds me of Bronson Koenig

Do you seriously think I don't know that. I'll spell it out this time. "Warning: the aforementioned quote by the party responding at present was an extension of a joke started by a previous smarta$$ making a joke about the rampant over enthusiasm of which you are cautioning me not to have". By hat should clear it all up.

Please, for the love of all things God and internet, tell me you didn't think that post was serious.

Nevermind, I know you think it was serious, which is absolutely f**cking hilarious. Hahaha.

Much like the adjective "sauce" and "Tacos" are used, I am hoping "Perhaps ((((tamper)))) the enthusiasm" makes it's way into the annals of GBI interwebz lingo for eternity. Sarcasm or not, I know I'm gonna use it as much as possible from here on out.

He actually reminds me of She-He from iu.

I'm always weary of these big kids that play in small programs and against less than stellar competition.
Now, if he's playing in the Chicago or St. Louis AAU leagues and doing really well against that competition, then I'll have a different opinion.

Comparing a 3* guy with no offers to Robbie is a reach. Temper your expectations. You see where Weatherford got with his Kramer comparison.

No, but if the kid is a better offensive player than a defensive player, I'll take that trade all day every day.
We've proven that defense doesn't win championships.
Stop posting. You're clueless on what it takes to win championships. A good defense is needed to win a title. Period. End of story. Not debatable.

Yeh.....I guess you're right. Purdue prides itself on defense, has since the Keady days. That's why we have so many Final Four banners hanging in Mackey.

Now, get your ass back in the kitchen and bake me another pie.

There is not an active coach around that doesn't think defense and rebounding are critical and should be staples of a good program. I'll also add that all offensive players can be better defensive players...particularly if they are good athletes. That said I understand your interest...I think?

You want to see more energy expended on the offensive side than the defensive side of the ball? It is true that the rules shift more to the offensive side of the aisle..particularly on the perimeter. Many players at Purdue were recruited before the rule changes. Many players are already here with whatever they can offer. Matt can either chuck it and play a style that may sit better with the rules and yet not be better for most the team or he can slowly try to move in the direction he wants...IF he can get the recruits needed. Purdue is better when maximizing the abilities of most or the key players than what may rest with a given player IMO. An athletic player that wants to press and run may not blend with the other members to form the best approach.

Matt has wanted for several years to move towards a two PG system...back in the Ronnie days. I'm guessing that Matt slowly tries to move the direction he wants or gets the ones in 2017 that move that approach along with the remaining players for Purdue. Still, there has been a lot of differences in the Purdue teams under Matt. The only constant that I "think" you wish is for a more dominant, ball controlling PG...where that player is THE crucial player for all that happens. So does "that" player want to blend in with the existing players?

Ask Valpo how that worked last nite? 9 times out of 10 a good offense wins.

Why do some idiots here talk about the two as if they are mutually exclusive notions? Players and teams can be good at both.

They've fallen victim to the pernicious plague of dichotomous thinking where the afflicted are stuck in an era akin to 1950s style westerns. The world isn't made up of good guys vs. bad guys just like all players aren't exclusively offensive or defensive specialists.

Semantics is the Bane of intellectual growth.

Well, that's a little different than your initial criteria. I'm guessing that you'll backtrack on your last statement, too.

Don't know if this is up there in all the posts....Apparently Chastain's older brother attends Purdue.
