Well as bad as Martinez played sometimes… Frost never pulled him, and now we know why. That last INT was a head scratcher. Perfect pass....to the Iowa guy.
He won’t have to worry about that at Nebraska too much longer I am sureFrost couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag...
I hope nothing happens to him. He is good for Purdue. He won’t have to worry about that at Nebraska too much longer I am sure
Nebraska played against Purdue very well in the first half but the Boilers rebounded in the second half and led 28 to 17 prior to the Huskers last td with about one and a half minutes left.Nebraska played the same way today also, but held onto the lead until the fourth quarter. What a bunch of chumps.Nebraska is absolute GARBAGE! I can’t believe that it was only a one possession game for us. Embarrassing
I could not agree more.I hope nothing happens to him. He is good for Purdue.
And they have a veteran laden team.. losing Jo Jo domann is going to hurt them more than losing karlaftis or bell will hurt us., they had 4 sixth year seniors this year who were good players. The backseat sports podcast made a case that even with good coaching their personnel won’t be better on either side of the ball. They didn’t play any young guys all year and still went 3-9. Literally no young guys played.Nebraska was in great position, then the 4th quarter happens.
Every game Nebraska played has been a one possession game dipshit...Nebraska is absolute GARBAGE! I can’t believe that it was only a one possession game for us. Embarrassing
😅😅😅😅 it has to be td75Every game Nebraska played has been a one possession game dipshit...
There will be better days. One more year of us doing things right and Nebraska doing things wrong and it’s likely we never go below them in statureWe needed Nebraska to win and also Minnesota so that we could get a share of first place with a win today.
You have respect for Iowa after the truth emerged about the long-time strength coach? At some point in time when you play so many close games and still lose you point the the finger at one person - the coach. Basically they are not playing or focused to win. Rather they are focused on stats! They are playing to look competitive! At some point in time you need to stop looking at your stats and playing competitive and just concentrate on one thing - winning! Throw out the style points. Nobody remembers style. Just win! Even winning ugly is still a win! When Purdue plays IU, the only thing that matters is the win! You need to go for the glory and the rest will follow!
Iowa is one of the most boring teams ever. But every year they win at least 8 games. And with wins comes respect!
So don’t do what Frost does! Do what Lombardi did. Just win baby
Yep, and Purdue had one of the more comfortable wins against Nebraska. It was the only game when Nebraska fans left early.Every game Nebraska played has been a one possession game dipshit...
I don't think I've ever seen a 3-9 team that outscored its opposition, let alone by 335-272. Nebraska finished 1-8 in B1G games, yet its points for/points against was exactly even 239-239. It's unbelievable how many close games they lost.Nebraska was in great position, then the 4th quarter happens.
A baseball coach once pointed out to me that an all star caliber player in the 90s was unreal when his team was up or down 3 runs and absolutely sucked when the game was close. That is NebraskaI don't think I've ever seen a 3-9 team that outscored its opposition, let alone by 335-272. I am talking about recruiting this year and next by saying we went 8-4 and was tied for first in our conference. Few recruits will care if we are above or below Nebraska in stature. IMO most want to go to a program that is trending upward. There will be better days. We aren’t treading upward without a share of the big ten title?I am talking about recruiting this year and next by saying we went 8-4 and was tied for first in our conference. In marketing, the more positives you can say the easier the sale. Being in a Bowl Game is an upward trend, but where it is played and how big of a Bowl it is makes a huge difference. It also adds if we win. If we get in a crappy Bowl without a big audience and then lose, yes we are treading upward, but...We aren’t treading upward without a share of the big ten title?
I would take us trending upward while Nebraska, northwestern and Illinois trend downwardIn marketing, the more positives you can say the easier the sale. The losses on defenses are notable, but they also lose a lot of key players on offense that are leading in production, e.g. reception leaders: 1st Toure 898 yards, 2nd Allen 602 yards, and 5th Falk 223 yards. And they have a veteran laden team.. losing Jo Jo domann is going to hurt them more than losing karlaftis or bell will hurt us., they had 4 sixth year seniors this year who were good players. The 2023 class is the critical one for Purdue, which replaces the 2019 class. This season was important for Brohm to recapture some momentum, especially when you consider that Purdue has a good chance of reaching 9-4 with one of the hardest schedules in the country. Adding together another year of NFL Draft buzz, this winning season, and continuity with the coaching staff, then the 2023 class will have strong tailwinds for improvements in recruiting.I am talking about recruiting this year and next by saying we went 8-4 and was tied for first in our conference. I don’t know about linebacker .. domann was one of the best players in the big ten and THE player who kept things from getting very ugly for Nebraska. Backseat was saying that honas is good but nowhere near the player domann is .. Heinrich is just alright. The losses on defenses are notable, but they also lose a lot of key players on offense that are leading in production, e.g. reception leaders: 1st Toure 898 yards, 2nd Allen 602 yards, and 5th Falk 223 yards.
Offense
QB Martinez (likely)
WR Toure
WR Falk
TE Allen
OG Sichterman
On defense, Nebraska basically loses their entire secondary and loses a lot of size up front with Daniels, Stille, and Thomas. They should be fine at linebacker, especially with Honas returning, but Iowa showed how you can run the ball without Daniels plugging up the middle. Also, PFF graded Domann, Britt, and Stille as the only defenders scoring above 70 overall.
Defense
NT Daniels
DT Stille
DT Thomas
NB/OLB Domann
S Williams
S Dismuke
CB Cam-Taylor Britt
Yeah, I agree. I just meant they will have decent experience coming back at linebacker, but they don't have anyone who can replace the role Domann played. Nebraska could have the biggest defensive regressions in the Big Ten next year, similar to what we saw with Northwestern this year.I don’t know about linebacker .. domann was one of the best players in the big ten and THE player who kept things from getting very ugly for Nebraska. Also the losses you talk about are one thing in a scenario like us in 2018 where you see a cam Allen and a Cory trice get their feet wet late in the year. Nebraska didn’t have any young players getting their feet wet
Very true. Also.. not a good thing to lose most of your secondary when facing PurdueYeah, I agree.
