Nebraska at Purdue

NU leads 10-6 with a little over 5 minutes left in the fist quarter. Both teams shooting in the low 30s on shooting percentage. Jones has all of Purdue's points, but also 2 fouls in less than 5 minutes.

Edit and they changed that to just one foul on Jones in the ESPN box score.

39-36 at the half, PURDUE is ahead. Jones 12, Swanson 8, Lombard 7, and Layden with 6.

Everyone but Collier is shooting 50% or greater, and then there is the greatest shooter CKG has ever seen going 0-3... ROFL

End of 3rd, 57-53 NU. Nebraska opened up a large lead but Purdue battled back the last 3 minutes of the quarter.

Jones leads in scoring with 18, Layden with 12, Lombard with 9 and Swanson with 8. Not getting much from the posts tonight, or Collier to no ones surprise on the latter.

6 minutes left in the game and NU is pulling away, up 11 67-56. Purdue's only points this quarter are a Swanson 3.

74-68 final. NU wins, but we scored well, defended well, just way too many turnovers to win. Still this game stands FAR above our best effort this season.

Poole did not play, Petree did not play, Amiyah only played a little and Bass was used sparingly it seemed. McCarthy and Puryear had a rough night, but not surprising going up against Markowski.

Jones led Purdue with 20, Layden with 12 and Swanson and Lombard tied for third high at 11. It feels like its been some time since we had 4 players in double figures scoring against a quality opponent.

Disappointing to be outscored by 24 off turnovers and still lose by only 6. I was hoping Swanson would start the 3rd quarter after having a great 2nd quarter, but we went back to the starting lineup and promptly fell behind never to recover the lead. Frustrating to say the least. Several times throughout the game we had chances to tie or take the lead only to turn the ball over for a score. Our last turn over came with Purdue down 3 with a change to tie with a 3 but s bad pass and all of a sudden we’re down 6 with just seconds to go. The turnovers are painful to watch. This was a winnable game.

We out-rebounded NU by 1, held Markowski to 2 boards (she had 21 her last visit to Mackey), and shot a better percentage from the field and from behind the arc. But you are not going to win against a quality team turning it over 21 times.
