It will be interesting to see the response from coaches and fans when this starts happening at college football games.
You could tell them that, but it is not enforceable. And if you reprimand you would be sued by the NFLPA. NFL players are under a contract that does not require them to stand. Like it or not (I don't personally). In addition to the legal aspect, teams also risk bad press, which could affect merchandise sales. Money talks. These 'protests' are BS. They're only being allowed because they're 'politically correct'. Do you think if a Christian athlete held an on field protest against gay marriage that they'd get the same reception?
If I were the owner of the 49ers or an AD at a college and the players wanted to protest, I'd tell them that when they're on the field, they are an employee/rep. You do your protests on your time, not company time.
Mizzou had a 12% drop in season ticket sales this year....You could tell them that, but it is not enforceable. And if you reprimand you would be sued by the NFLPA. College programs, while they are essentially allowed to make up the rules on the fly, would face the media scrutiny for reprimanding a player. We already seen how this type of scenario plays out. See Mizzou.

And a huge drop in enrollment as well.Mizzou had a 12% drop in season ticket sales this year....

Good interview, but he's a bit misinformed about what Kaepernick is doing. He said "if he has the money to do something why aren't you doing anything", but Kaepernick has donated a million dollars to charities and all the money he receives from jersey sales are going to charity, plus he's gotten the 49ers owner to donate a million dollars apiece to 2 organizations working to fight inequality and improve relationships between law enforcement and the surrounding communities. So he is doing something with his money.C.J. Parker, whose dad is a retired Marine, talked about this for a feature in our podcast Friday.
"...improve relationships between law enforcement and the surrounding communities..." Hey, wearing socks in practice that portray cops as pigs does not improve relationships between law enforcement and the surrounding communities.Good interview, but he's a bit misinformed about what Kaepernick is doing.
