MSU Looked Good Tonight...

.... certainly put a thumping on that school down south...85-57.
I tried to watch it, but had a hard time staying interested. IU has no inside game. And, as a matter of fact, no outside game. They'll struggle keeping up with any decent team.

Wow. I thought I was alone.

IU just sucks.

They were dribbling around, then trying to throw the ball around the perimeter, to ... whatever the h*ll it is they were doing.

Their body language sucks.

At times, Archie looks like he's treading water until he can get some recruits in the door. That's bullsh** because there's talent on that roster.

Right now they look like they're mailing it in. He better fix that (crap) because he's going to have to build for next year.

Yeah, BUT . . .

I'm old enough to remember Purdue squads that started a 6'7" center, Chuckie White, and obliterated IU in one of their worst defeats.

Man up.

If you ain't going to do it this year, what makes you think you'll do it next year?

Losers.

It is one thing to be less talented but to play hard and fundamentally sound...it is another thing to play poorly because you aren’t giving a maximum effort, aren’t coachable, and aren’t playing as a team. Right now it appears that Archie is having a tough time getting guys to buy in to what he is trying to build down there.

We have seen what they can do on both sides of the plate: Hazel and the players not buying in and Brohm and his entire roster buying in...it is a night and day difference.

Archie's still getting a pass this year while dealing with the holdovers of the Insane Clapping Posse but if next year's version of the Archies isn't a big improvement the rumbles will start.

IU looked pretty awful after the first few minutes. If I was an IU fan I would be horrified! Not sure Archie is the answer, but time will tell.

IIRC, MSU shot 54% from the field for the game. That is not the mark of good defense. IU was shooting about 25% at one point towards the end of the first half. MSU;s defense was not stellar but IU was having trouble hitting open shots.

I do not know the extent of Morgan's injury, which is unfortunate. I hope that it is not serious. If he does not come back soon, that team is in very serious trouble-though it may give the fanbase an excuse for poor performance.

We mobbed the team bus when it came back and I took one of Chuckie's shoes. I nailed it to my wall where it stayed for several years.

Wiser words might be “to leave a sleeping dog lie” rather to wake him with respect to the IU game against us. In a rival game as it is, many an underdog has captured a win on their own court. They don’t need any quotes from us for their locker room bulletin board to wake them, imo!

I would love to have my quote on IU’s bulletin board:

“IU is a bad basketball team, with not much talent and apparently not much coaching either. I would be depressed if I was unfortunate enough to be a fan of those guys wearing clown pants.”

+1

I think IU only gets up for about 1/3 of the games they play. Duke, ND and NW they played hard and ended up winning 2 of those games. But then there is Indiana st, Fort Wayne, Wisconsin, Seton Hall and now MSU. They just didn't look they even knew they were in a real game. Archie has his work cut out for him.

Agree, but that applies more to the players than the ramblings on an internet forum. I would expect Haas, Edwards, et al, to be pretty quiet leading up to that game.

Side note, but saw in ESPN this morning that ARod gave MSU a motivational pep talk before the game last night.

Really? A MLB player that cheated his way through his career is needed to jump start this team for IU? Izzo must be desperate.

Everyone got cards from A-Rod for his "personal trainer."
