MSU behind behind big at Iowa-half

We need MSU to get some losses while Valentine is out. Makes it a 2-way race.

Iowa isn't guarding the paint well. That should be a good thing for our bigs to go nuts. Need to keep their PG from driving the lane and making crazy circus shots like he is doing to MSU.

I don't get it, because Michigan St have many 4/5 stars players. Yes, you lost 1 player, so what?

They were going to lose tonight with Valentine. His injury gives them an excuse. Hope he is back when they come to Mackey.

In some respects, MSU is just having an off night, while Iowa is hitting everything they throw in the vicinity of the basket. In truth, we have had games like this, on both ends of the score. In other respects, perhaps is MSU a one-trick pony after all?

Based on what though? That offense runs through Valentine like our offense runs through hammons. We would have been blown out of multiple games at this point without AJ, and he isn't even the trigger man that Valentine is. Their offense is lost without him and they're trying to find their way but it's rough going right now.

Didn't say it wasn't a legitimate excuse but it's still a game I feel confident they'd lose with him. I just didn't buy the #1 ranking with Valentine and Iowa is capable of taking down very good teams, Iowa State chokejob aside, particularly at home.

Have to agree to disagree on that then I suppose, they've looked unbeatable at times and very worthy of the number one ranking I thought. The last two games without Valentine though have been a different story. The offense doesn't flow and they seem to be hanging their heads a little more than they have when their backs were against the wall earlier in the season. I agree with you about Iowa, they're gonna be a tough out this year for a lot of people especially at home.
