Most potent lineup

As of right now, I would have to go with Eastern, CE, Mathias, VE, & Haarms.

What would be yours?
I would swap PJ for Eastern but keep everyone else. PJ has the advantage in turnovers and 3 point shooting. Those areas are critical to being a pg..

Potent means mature under pressure and high FT %. At least in my opinion. There's a difference between potent in the last five minutes of the first half and the last three minutes of the game. Seniors will be more potent under pressure. So, there are probably at least two answers to this questions. 1. who can go run amuck and get us a big lead, and 2. who can keep us ahead and extend the lead under the pressure of the end of the game.

Also, how do we have a clue at this point? We have seen most of the team (other than Haarms) very, very early in the season at the WUG and we've seen all of them against terrible opposition with few spectators/noise/pressure.

I say the most potent with no pressure could include Eastern and Haarms with Mathias, VE and CE. The most potent under pressure will be the seniors with CE.

A month ago people suggested haarms would get 5 minutes a game, now they are suggesting he starts...lol.
Nobody had seen him play a month ago. After his performances in the first two games, it's certainly not a stretch to think he'll be pushing Haas for stater's minutes.

To begin the season, I think you have to go with the 4 seniors and CE. It may not be the most potent, but it will be the most effective. Things may change over the course of the season as younger guys get more experience or the injury bug comes into play. I think we can be every bit as good as last year.

No question Haas will be an defensive problem for just about everybody we face. He's so good near the rim. The question on Haas will be how well he can defend athletic big men. That might limit his minutes in big games.

I think Nags identified the 5 most athletic players on the team, but I'm not quite convinced those 5 are the best line-up. PJ is a vital piece, as others have mentioned, for his poise, his decision-making, his outside shooting, and his nack for forcing turnovers at critical times.

If I was simply naming the most athletic five, I would have Wheeler in there somewhere. I'm going for the best offensive lineup.

You don't have the most prolific scorer nor the most intimating defensive player in your lineup. I still remember those blocks against slam dunk tries by both Wagner and Bridges.

Haas is prolific but lacks versatility, much of it attributed to his size. I prefer a more versatile lineup.

I think that Haas has to be part of the best offensive line-up. Where Haas struggles is on defense against certain match-ups.

The two best centers in the league are supposedly Wagner and Haap. Haas did an outstanding job defensively against Haap. Wagner did some pick and pop outs where he hit some 3's, but IMO we can live we that. Michigan could not live with the fact that Wagner got into some foul trouble guarding Haas.

I don't understand the panic when Matt thinks there are defensive match up problems for Haas. Big deal, they are bigger match up problems for them. Let's say Wagner gets hot and hits 2 3's in a row. Put Vince or Haarms on him and let Haas play a smaller player who can't hit 3's. Haas stops the drive and the smaller player hits 50% of his mid range shots. Big deal, Haas will shoot 70% of his two's and get them in foul trouble.
