First of all, wear your Cardinal hats, because there’s way too many Walmart Cub fans around here who need to learn that Harry Caray was a native St. Louisan who grew up loving the Cardinals and served as their radio voice for a quarter-century. He even did Mizzou games. Holy Cow.
Take I-65 to exit 175, head west to Sagamore Parkway, turn right and head north and west over the river and up the hill to the third light in West Lafayette, Yeager Road, turn south
and merge onto Northwestern Avenue at the roundabout. This is the "orientation before disorientation" part of the trip, as you’ll soon see the stadium on your right. Continue southeast on Northwestern, past campus into the old downtown area, currently marked by two cranes building 16-story apartments.
Stay on Northwestern until it splits right and ends at the main drag, State Street, turn west and look along a south-side corner for Harry’s, the city’s oldest Purdue bar. Or nearby, chain-member Brothers. Or head east and down into the levee area to Bruno’s, a virtual Purdue sports museum with great pizza, Italian and German food. Other good spots nearby are Scotty's Brewhouse or Buffalo Wild Wings. To park for the game, head farther west on State and follow the signs to the intramural fields. Party hardy.
