don't know about that, sounds like if we get Wright maybe Bell goes elsewhere.Crystal Ball on 24/7 up to 62% after a few experts flipped their choices.

If CJB can land that group of WRs, he could then work on linemen for the 2020 class which would make Wolegib very happy.Crystal Ball on 24/7 up to 62% after a few experts flipped their choices.

Hopefully “non-elite” 2 star OLs.If CJB can land that group of WRs, he could then work on linemen for the 2020 class which would make Wolegib very happy.
Brohm wants to go 3 and 4 wide. We lose 3 scholarship WRs this year.We still have 2 quality receivers from last year and two other quality receiver commitments. At some point, you either say we have enough receivers and add players elsewhere or the quality players we currently have will look elsewhere.

His talent would be best utilized at WR.It's not a given Wright ends up at receiver. He has said he is willing to play safety to help team he commits to
I see that Steve Wiltfong is picking us. That is probably a good sign. I trust his predictions more than the others on the site.Does anybody know what is behind these experts switching their picks to Purdue? I read that we are pushing hard for him right now, but I wonder if something has been leaked or if this is pure speculation based on our Coaches making a big push for him. I haven't read anything stating when he will visit.
If Louisville is the toughest competition for Wright, Purdue will win that battle. Petrino is unlikely to survive this year, and almost certainly won't be there in 2020. The only concern I have is that Wright believes Brohm will either be at Purdue or Louisville, so there's no risk in committing to Purdue and he can flip to Louisville if Brohm goes there.
They would be foolish to fire him for 1 bad season. This isnt the big east anymore, you play real teams.Petrino has probably at least two years due to his buyout and the chaos at Louisville. They cannot count on Papa John to bail him out again. We better hope he’s not fired as I would suspect Brohm would be the heir apparent
Thought this put it to rest last week..

But the facts are facts. Where will they get the money? From the school general fund? Can't count on Papa John. If they hire Brohm, they will need to buyout Petrino, pay the buyout for Brohm, and then have to pay Brohm and his staff handsomely. It sounds like that could be well over $20M additional money they don't have. That's not going to put it to rest. That's the story from one board member. When Louisville starts losing revenue from the football program, their fans and boosters will be all over them, much like we were with Hazell.
Right. And you also don’t come out publicly and make these unpopular statements unless the decision is already made. But the facts are facts. Where will they get the money? My guess, they'll raise the funds via boosters if there's enough frustration around Petrino. They can't let the program go down in a tailspin.
I hope he develops his talent and goes to a bowl game next year.UL with all their legal issues from basketball and other items do not have the money to buy out his contract. Petrine is not going to quit. I am not hearing anything locally here in Louisville about boosters stepping up. Petrino has at least one or two years grace period.
What’s the best recruiting class Purdue has had in the modern era?

LB Kyle Williams was a 5 star, but we all know how that one wentTiller supposedly had only one top 25 recruiting class. There was an article posted last week reflecting Purdue's top 15 highest ranked rivals recruits. It had Lymon and Orton, but not George. Two of this year's class were in that top 15. It also reflected Purdue never had a 5star recruit. I'm not sure how far back recruiting rankings go.
On the down side, there are always some people out there that say you need to wait 4 years before judging a recruiting class. You know who you are.
Best one on rivals that goes back to 2002
2004 class

Arguably the 40% chance for Bell is the highest among all the suitors. I think it could end up being a 'who blinks first' between Wright and Bell as they may see themselves not being able to play together....although clearly Brohm's offense spreads it around. I like his numbers and think Bell may slip away at the last moment if he doesn't commit after the Iowa game at Ross Ade.While scouring the Rivals main page, I found this in their mailbag. Someone asked how they see Purdue’s ‘19 recruiting class finishing up, especially at WR. They stated they see Purdue with a 60% chance of landing Milton Wright. A 40% chance of landing David Bell. And a 25% chance of landing both.

I agree with that assessment. I'd like both players to come to Purdue, but with all the other receivers coming, I highly doubt they both come. Bell could do a secret commit like Moore did last year. But if Wright commits, I have serious doubts Bell would commit.
Why would you say that? They could easily play opposite of each other with Moore in the middle. Not to mention sub packages. But, that would be 4 extremely highly rated recievers in the same class. Considering the talented WRs in the last class, that’s real crowded, but you wouldn’t turn down a player like Wright or Bell. Luckily Purdue has some guys that could switch positions or switch to defense. I love that guys are going to have to work hard and battle for a chance to play. Purdue is getting guys that are the best athletes on their teams and it will show. We are going to be real good in the upcoming years. We will be better next year than this and it two years... watch out!
So your saying it’s an Alabama type problem. Works well for them.I didn't say Purdue would turn down either player. I said if one player commits, looking at our other talented receivers who are redshirting this year, and our other current receiver commits, I doubt the other of the two would commit to Purdue.
I liken it to Martin and Hummel. They were both great players who unfortunately played the same position. Martin wanted to be a starter and didn't want to share time, so he left for ND.
Typically, if you're an elite athlete, you want and expect to start, rather than sharing the time and the ball. I believe it's kind of obvious, whoever signs with Purdue will be our #2 receiving option for at least the next two years. And if we sign both Bell and Wright, one of the two will be our #3 option, and maybe #4 with our other recruits. I know these guys all talk about it's a team and everything. But how many elite 4* athletes want to come to a team where they know they will be the #3 option for at least the next 2 years?
