Michigan state vs Kansas game thread

I thought it would be fun to post during this game. Do you think MSU has a chance or is Kansas too strong?

Will be interesting to see the match-ups inside, somewhere I think MSU could do well. KU fans seem down on their interior (I have not seen KU play much this year).

While kudos to MSU on a dominating win, Miami played like garbage (even when Miami had a lead, they were making all sorts of mistakes).

If the standard KU shows up, not sure MSU can hang.

MIT would be nice if MSU wins but it would be funner to beat a number 1 seed in Kansas.

Frank Mason gets away shielding defensive players when going to the rim with his off arm. I've seen 3 instances so far. Twice it's affected a MSU player.

MSU foolishly playing right into KU's game. For all the Izzo/March talk that gets spewed, this game hasn't shown me much of anything on his behalf.

On the flip side, I think KU spent 3/4 of the first half screwing around instead of pounding the ball inside on MSU which is clearly their biggest weakness.

I would love to play and beat Kansas - it would just be so damn exciting. We've beat Izzo plenty of times - although it may feel a little more special in the tournament. I think we would match up well with KU after seeing them today for the first time this season.

For fun I went over to the KU board this morning and read the thread they had discussing our game with Iowa State. Let's just say they don't have much respect for us. We're a "slow" team and Swanigan is not athletic enough to guard anyone on their team. Haas can't catch or finish. They are just going to run the ball at us all day and we just won't be able to compete. Same things we've heard all year but a better opponent.

That said, it is an opponent that still lost to IU this year.

MSU is not playing smart. Kid takes two dribbles and tries to hit a 3 from the top of the key. Too many quick shots resulting in run outs by Kansas. MSU is also lettin Kansas abuse them inside. Lots of alleyopps. Kansas also seems to play a lot of 1-on-1 ball. They are talented and seems like it works for them.

The #1 seed is the one you want to beat. I'm excited to see our team playing next weekend and hope they continue beyond that.
