Micah carter flips

to Louisville. Supposedly Jeff has contacted at least a few of our better players already on the team about transferring too. Looks like he's trying to take everything he can from us on his way out.
Are you going to be as critical of our next coach if he does the same thing as he walks out the door of somewhere else? It’s all part of the game and if players want to follow the coach that recruited them so be it. Better than holding a kid hostage taking up a scholarship at a place he doesn’t want to play.

Its going to be a tough time for the new coach with roster management.

Man, who was recruiting this kid? If it was Hagan should we be worried he's bouncing as well?

normally, a good coach will arrive at their new school and bring 5-10 of the players he recruited to that new school. Brohm brought a bunch of players he had recruited at WKU to Purdue. he even brought a LB who was the coach's son with him to Purdue. This is normal.

I knew and commented at the time about Hazell being a bad coach before his first game. Hazell brought zero recruits with him when he was hired at Purdue. and at the time he was hired, Purdue had around 6 scholarships to give. That was a very bad sign/indicator of his future success and lack of recruiting desire/ability. Think about it, Nobody from Hazell's previous school wanted to follow him to Purdue. Zero, nada, zilch. NOBODY!

I suspect we will see another 3-6 players either transfer or decommit. I hope no fan jumps off a cliff .

This shouldn’t surprise anybody. Yeh, it sucks but it’s the coaches job.
I hope our new coach does the exact same thing.

Irrelevant since you couldn't transfer for free and be immediately eligible, like you can today.

it's not irrelevant. Take 30 minutes and look at all the players brohm brought with him when he came to Purdue. Look at all the high school players that decommitted from WKU, or that brohm was recruiting when he was the WKu coach.

now spend some time and look at the players that followed coaches at UW, Arkansas, and other colleges when coaches left. Good coaches usually arrive with at least 5 players they were recruiting or from their team.

Take some time. look it up. and then look at how many recruits followed Hazell to Purdue.

I suspect you will see at least 3 more HS players decommitting from Purdue to join brohm.

and on the flip side, if we hire a decent coach, he will bring with him 4-6 players that he was recruiting.

This flip hurts. Just like I did years ago and talked up Rondale before he played a single game for us, this kid is underrated as a Rivals 3 star.

Having Brian as interim coach is crazy. Why Bobinski decided that, I have no clue. We are not going to hire him as the HC. He could be helping his brother with getting in the current players ears.

Will he stay on at Purdue as an assistant coach, no, he will be joining Jeff at Louisville eventually. Probably right after the bowl game.

Its already been said Brian is going to Louisville after the bowl game.

Hopefully not Campbell, look at his record this year! What was going on to be that bad
he hit his ceiling there and now time for a change closer to home. He's young and has plenty of coaching experience. He gets similar recruiting classes and likes to develop them. In his tenure at ISU he has beaten 10 Top 25 teams and has 4 wins vs Top 10 teams. He's had 5 consecutive winning seasons w/ 5 bowl berths. Yea, this year's record was a blip but that comes w. the territory at schools like this. He's a proven winner. We aren't getting the really big name coaches to come to Purdue. This guy is always a wanted man and would fit our situation.
