McCollum to Iowa

My gut says both of these coaches are step ups from the guys that they are replacing. Might add a little style variation to the B1G along with Dusty … not certain yet how much the west coast adds change style of play

Have to wonder if IU chose the wrong coach.

Well, we get to find out soon enough.

That fan base has zero clue.

Curious to see the hatred towards Purdue and it's comical going over there. That fan base doesn't understand almost 1/3 of the remaining field played 2 double digit seeds. Just a clueless bunch. :D

What breaks did Purdue get? They played the two teams that won. The media darlings. A year after playing a chalk bracket to get to the final 4. Unless you are implying that the best teams don’t always win in the tournament.
well for starters, holding on to a 4 seed was quite a gift. Then facing not one but 2 double digit seeds, and then landing in their back yard for the S16 game while the #1 seed has to be 1000 miles from home. But aside from all that, yeah pretty much the same path as all other remaining teams.

Huh? I'm pretty sure only Purdue, Maryland and Michigan State did. So 3/16. Granted the 1s can't.

1. Ticket sales. The NCAA isn’t dumb. Probably deserved a 5 but based on experience in the tournament and trying to sell out 35k at Lucas Oil they did the right thing. Can talk about deserving or not but Purdues a draw for TV eyes and ticket sales. We’ll get that benefit of the doubt until we stop showing up. If we keep showing up we’ll keep getting favorable seeds.
2. That’s the draw. People talked shit when we lost to double digit seeds in later rounds before and now we’re lucky? Please.

A local/large firm up here in the Fort doing in inner-office bracket. If, you had Purdue losing in the first 2 rounds you get double the points for that round.

Man, it would really suck to be an IU fan right now. :D

McCollum is 43 and I was afraid Indiana was going to get him. He is a solid coach and with IU's NIL could have built somehthing at IU and then stayed there for 20 years+ like he can do with Iowa. I assumed they were going to target a 38-year-old and just finally stop and build it the right way, but I guess there isn't patience for that any more?

Super-relieved that Indiana went with a 50-year old that has questionable character at best and a kid involved in an already rocky equation. DeVries is a big step up from Woody on X's and O's but it's already feeling like this thing has potential to impoode. There was not the same negatives coming in with McCollum.

Huh? Why wouldn't they?? They played a #14 and a #10 which equals their first 2 games. Just because they lost doesn't stop the fact of 2 double digit games.....does it?
I guess I missed the intended point of this conversation. I thought it was about winning 2 games against DD seeds.

Not sure I get that. DeVries has more experience period, and experience - albeit for 1 season - in a power job. McCollum came from Div II. I must have missed the questionable character thing. Care to explain? I mean if they didn't care about character Beard or Wade would have been the first calls, but it sounds like they weren't.

"Then facing not one but 2 double digit seeds". That was a response from an IU fan and those 5 teams played exactly 2 double digits seeds regardless of win and/or lose.

Because you said "of the remaining field". Most would assume that means the Sweet 16 teams. If it's the round of 32 teams, it's even less than 1/3.
Huh? There's 16 games in the round of 32 and 5 teams (games) which is 5/16 played 2 double digit seeds. So, to my original statement "close to 1/3" played 2 double digit seeds.

You realize that we're arguing about semantics coming off of stupid and jealous IU fans? Probably my fault partially.
